Sound/Audio Bug - Can hear everyone in world & mixed up directions
For a few weeks now since a recent patch around May. Our RP group as well as others have been experiencing issues where the sound engine seems to crash or break and suddenly people can be heard no matter where in the world they are and the directions are incorrect as well. I've been trying to discover the potential cause for awhile now. Here are some things I've narrowed it down to. Despite the worlds or models not changing the bug suddenly started existing after a recent patch. The issue seems to trigger when someone switches avatars in spawn. But doesn't effect everyone at once but a large majority. Triggering sounds in the world might be a cause as well as some people have noted this is when it happened for them. I use VRC_Trigger / AudioTrigger for most sounds but some are Game Objects that Play the audio source on Awake. Reproducing by performing a specific action doesn't seem to be the case. It's rather random. Happens to random people at random times. But usually after at least 20 minutes into the lobby. The issue seems to happen more often when the world has a high population, we usually avg 40-60 players a session. Removing Audio override zones doesn't fix the issue. My theory is it has to do with initialization of an avatar with Sounds/Spatial Audio Component. All Avatars used for enemies are made using the suggested method of enabling Audio Components instead of the game object. Below are links to the worlds we use, but the bug isn't limited to these worlds. It has happened to several RPers/Players in many other worlds. The worlds linked also have Avatar pedastals for about 100 or so avatars. Many of which have attacks/sounds etc. I'll try to get Twitch Clips of it happening to players from multiple angles but due to randomness of it might not help. I'll attempt copying my log files next session I happens in. wrld_c58b342b-de4c-4e8d-a896-d0c3ac603c29 wrld_89cf1574-ed48-4248-ab9c-c0ada7e0fd6e

Horribly mangled impostors?
On friday, in the sequence of the introduction of the new impostor generation earlier this month, I decided to regenerate my avatar's impostors. I deleted them and then requested generation in the website. A few hours later I had an event in VRChat, and the first friend to join me, who was on a Quest headset, informed me I had holes through me and rendering priority issues. Please check the first two attached pictures! At the time, before logging in, I confirmed that the impostors were reported by the website as having been generated. Another Quest using friend joined soon after, and he immediately started laughing. He, too, saw whatever this is, so it must have been a problem with the impostor itself. I'm a PCVR user, so performing Quest tests is nearly impossible for me. The PC impostor was fine for everyone at the time. A third friend had a broken impostor as well (head looked caved in); she changed avatars and the new avatar was fine. For the sake of this ticket, I installed VRChat on my Pico headset yesterday so I could see the problem myself. Even though it's a different system, the impostor used should have been the same (Android). However, I did not experience the problem at this time (see attachments 3 and 4). That means one of the following things: The issue is only visible on the Quest, the issue was corrected on your side in the two days since, the issue was temporary after generation (or cache related? my friends would have seen my avatar before, recently) or the issue was world dependent. I figured I'd still report in case it helped track anything down. Avatar ID: avtr_224cef91-cc99-4f91-ba0d-878e7ee195c5 World ID: wrld_ee946339-af92-49bb-acb0-04b014618cc8 Because I couldn't reproduce the issue yet, the photos are by my friend. He says his build number at the time must have been the one I associated with this ticket.
