This has been broken for a long while, since I can remember, Auto Hold does not work for Oculus, or Index, but does work for Desktop, and (last I checked) Vive.

works for index just fine. its a map creator features and has to be inable in the maps items

Autohold works with Index (And gloves i use which simulate Index Controller). But its annoying to have suddenly stuff sticking to your hand. Please make this optional for the User and not only for World creators.

Sharrnah Yes this. Pickup default is actually incredibly bad on what have been the "Standard VR Controllers" (The Oculus/Steam Layout and Not Vive Wands). I've previously (2023) brought up on here that if a player is using Vive Wands, this should be readable in Udon so we can switch to a separate, secondary control scheme for control-intensive features since the usage considerations for Vive Wands are irreconcilably different from everything else.

Index controllers don't really need auto hold. They have a grip sensor instead of a grab button, which isn't well suited to act as a button. A forced hold toggle would make holding things on Index awkward and unreliable.
If you're going to add a forced hold toggle, please either exclude Index controllers from it, or use a separate button for the "release" action for "stickier" pickups. As far as I understand this feature is mainly aimed at controllers that have an actual grab button, like Quest/Pico or Vive standalone.

No this is bad
while index has grip sensors , I DO NOT WANT TO DEATHGRIP my hand passivly while playing games that require holding things for long peroids of times. over time please cant maintain grip control with their hands and fatigue sets in and you get less and less control over time. your suggestion could use a lil nudge and be better explain as
add a toggle for those that dont want auto hold
Do not exlude it, make it a simple toggle.
This feature was not aimed at controllers with a grab button it was CLEArLY aimed at deathgrips cuased by index's LACK of a grip button

Mochikomi A toggle would be a great solution. A canny for it exists as well:

We're working on fixing this by adding a new "Forced" option to the pickup component's auto hold setting.
