Toggle for Friends only camera.

Instead of blanket removing cameras for non-friends, add a toggle opttion that defaults to friends only. There are some very neat effects that use cameras in order to work that people find amazing and beautiful. Due to recent abuse of cameras I also suggest adding an option to not allow the use of Display 1 on camera components as to not allow viewpoint overriding.

Scout: Please don't add this unless an IsFriend parameter is added to av3

Still praying for this awesome suggestion to one day be considered. Cameras can be used for so many amazing effects, and are faaar from the worst thing you could allow on an avatar.
Could even be added to the existing shader safety toggle, I doubt most people would mind.

Also a setting to hide all lenses (except your own) would be nice

please add this great function.
now individual users can toggle other's particles, shader and so on.
but camera is not included. this is a contradiction.

Now that the safety system is out, I think that is a great place to put this toggle. Limiting to friends only means friends camera's render without the option to disable them without unfriending. This needs to be changed

Menu-wise, there's a perfectly good space for this next to the other two toggles added last time. I have heard the system menu can be cumbersome to work with and add stuff to, that's what I keep getting in response to asking about this. But the hand menu should do just fine in this case. From what I can tell it is significantly easier to add elements and features to this menu, so please consider that as the primary location for this proposed feature if/when it is taken into consideration.

There's no reason you should be limiting cameras to friends only. You ought to be able to force cameras to not render to display 1 at runtime, and other than that cameras are not so much of a security issue. Also, people with high-resolution cameras on their avatars will still cause performance issues for their friends. You really should of just enforced cameras not writing to display 1 and added a checkbox to the menu to turn on and off cameras globally.

Vote +1!!!
Great idea!

I totally understand why they were friends only in the first place due to the camera theft bug, but thats extremely easily fixable due to the way that the bug occurs, i know of at least 3 people MINIMUM that could explain why and how this bug occurs. If you're adamant on not fixing the bug, then a toggle is a much better idea! Even if you were to fix the bug, a toggle is a very good idea still.

Sorry but this is just a baiting vote first of all just a small community make use of that camera for shaders (which btw was disabled anyway and you just exploited it) and a much bigger community strike terror with that so all you guys did was typing it to everybody you know and every discord and told them to "upvote this shit pls" regardless if they don't even understand what they miss out which you can also take from the comments here secondly your statement is written like we talk about the ingame camera and not the actual unity component (which still was never to be more than local anyway) and lastly you can still friend people you wanna show it to them but instead you go rampage because you need confirmation in your life I bet 100 bucks if they would implement a button to activate/deactivate this and it would be disabled by default you would still rampage.

Mr. AWE: I'm not sure where you're getting your info but you're flat out wrong on multiple levels. No one is being forced to upvote this.
In any discord I tried to get to signal boost the post I included what was affected not to mention the poster clarified in a comment with exmaples. If you're talking about people spawning cameras that you can move around and replacing people's viewpoints when you reference terror, that's unrelated to this and is an entirely separate security issue altogether. Very few people actually knew about and were actively abusing the unity cameras we use for our effects. Many things are used in ways that they aren't intended for already and it's because of this continued openness and discovery that we've seen some of the most incredible things in this game. Adding every single person that you want to see your effect you worked hard on is terribly inconvenient. Not all of us want every single person in any given lobby on our friends list just so they can see something we've created for other's enjoyment. If we'd "rampage" over the option we're literally asking for then we wouldn't ask for this compromise at all we'd ask for the cameras to be made identical to how they once were. I recommend looking into what's actually affected and reevaluating your sources when it comes to the supposed issues unity cameras are causing because I think you'll find a lot of it is unrelated. In the event that this feature is recognized and integrated into the menu like we're requesting, you can pay the 100 bucks you owe us for that bet starting here: https://paypal.me/MBrero
If you still think you're right that is.
