Please do not favor the world based on the management's judgment.

Recently, a certain world has been featured on the VRChat menu banner. I've also heard that colliders have been disabled as a special measure for that world.
Why is there such extreme favoritism toward a particular world? Is this world advertising based on money or a contract, like Sanrio VFES or VKET? This world is being treated exceptionally and preferentially, and as the world creator, I find this extremely unfortunate.
I have two suggestions.
- Implement this as a permanent feature, rather than an exception for a specific world.
- Banners in the VRChat menu should be displayed based on fair and appropriate selection criteria.
I am particularly critical of banner 2. This banner space is accessible to all VRChat users, and as a world creator, I find it extremely infuriating that the management is arbitrarily and favorably promoting a world in this space. Since it is a public area, fair selection criteria should be established. Here is an example.
- Sponsoring companies, organizations and companies that pay advertising fees, creators, etc.
This is an area where a typical monetized platform would clearly charge money. It's incomprehensible that VRChat, which supposedly has no cash, doesn't do this. They should consider selling it as an advertising banner.
- Weekly or monthly world recommendations selected based on fair selection criteria
I think popular worlds, with a few exceptions, will change over time. Why not use this as a place to highlight them? This would set certain criteria, such as having a certain number of visitors within a certain period of time and not having been selected before. I think this is a great measure that encourages a very fair and diverse range of worlds to be explored. At the very least, it's far removed from the current management's ego-driven selection process.
I hope for fair management.

Additionally, I've seen many comments on social media saying, "It's wrong to complain about a system that makes money."
What I find problematic is that due to a lack of regular communication, despite requests for this convenient feature having been made before ( https://feedback.vrchat.com/feature-requests/p/collider-on-avatar-should-be-disabled-by-safety ), exceptions were made for specific worlds, and the speed with which it was addressed was unprecedented. There were other tasks that needed to be addressed, such as the invalid OGP tag being left unaddressed for over three years ( https://feedback.vrchat.com/website/p/ogp-is-not-correct ), and the suggestion to explicitly state AI-generated content being left unaddressed despite receiving 200 votes ( https://feedback.vrchat.com/feature-requests/p/require-content-using-generative-ai-to-declare-it ).
I'd like to hear a statement from the admins soon. VRChat should be an ecosystem that raises money, but it is also a world created by creators.

This is actually very novel since I’ve had the impression that worlds like FISH which involve groups of players traveling around outdoor-scaled spaces larger than 100 square feet generally get the opposite of preference. Based on how the things like this usually end up buried under thousands of copies of “Steal a Roblox Game Template”, The same 10 hotel room templates over and over again, and things which rely on YTDLP working, (Or worse, buried under extremely low-effort knock-offs of a world which very effectively pulls players away from it for months). I rhetorically wonder how much of FISH’s success beyond promotion is just a huge number of players not even realizing that things like this can exist because VRChat’s world discovery has become so efficient at hiding this kind of content.

We may not know the full story, but situations that appear to be favoritism will only provoke backlash.
Be clever!

One or more worlds (C--- ---e) have also been exceptionally added to cross-platform spotlight category recently by being friends with one or more VRChat Team members (F--------).
The "certain world has been featured on the VRChat menu banner" (FISH ǃ [RELEASE] by Godfall) is also a promotional source of revenue for VRChat, due to the world's popularity (> 1M visits in the first week of release) and Creator Economy transactions available in that world.
> I've also heard that colliders have been disabled as a special measure for that world.
That is not the case as far as I know, mobile users (Meta Quest HMDs) in particular require a face mirror enabled for avatar flight assets.

Okay, interesting,
admin_disable_avatar_collision
and admin_disable_avatar_stations
tags have been added (admin-gated) to FISH ǃ [RELEASE] today, but these options are not available to world creators to customize the experience in user-created worlds.pitoru
Just to be clear, I think there's no problem as long as the uploading and promotion of this world is done under some kind of contract with VRChat, Inc.
However, if that's the case, I think that should be stated somewhere.
