MacOS Support
child of the beast
With MacOS moving to the M1 and M2 Chips, and with EAC blocking VRChat from being ran in a VM, having "native" MAcOS support would be amazing. Even if it's running though rosetta and not truly native.

Now that VRChat is available on iOS, allowing downloads on Apple Silicon devices seems like a natural next step. It would give Mac users a way to access VRChat without additional hardware while taking advantage of Apple’s unified ecosystem.

These machines are getting harder and harder to ignore each year, so please reconsider bringing vrchat to apple silicon macs if it's possible.

I am honestly unsure why this isn't a thing yet? The A-series and M-series chips are both arm and you can literally run these apps natively.
I don't think making it so people must hack the iPhone app on their Mac is the right way to go about this when VRChat can support it right now.

This NEEDS to happen!
Just got a new Mac and I'd love to be able to play when I'm away from home.

macOS is only popular in the U.S. and maybe Canada. Entirely irrelevant world wide.
Even less than Linux. So we should get a LINUX version first.

peq42 1) Mac OS is absolutely popular outside the US, maybe just not in your country, or among your friends. 2) The iOS version already exists, with how similar the hardware architecture is between Macs and iDevices, enabling Mac support would be entirely trivial now (aside from maybe EAC, but I've crashed more in the last week than I ever did before EAC was implemented, so I still say it needs to go)

peq42 Source?

peq42 Whole lot of nothing here

Yeah dude like the official iOS version is here. It's legit one button you have to push in the Unity SDK to make this work. Would be nice to see standalone in the Vision Pro too

The official VRChat iOS version is finally out so what’s stopping us from bringing it to Apple Silicon Macs? They share the same architecture, and it would open the door for so many new users. This is the perfect time to make it happen!

I am adding my voice of desire for this, VR even works if you do ALVR through VMWare Fusion. The only blocker now is ARM64 support being blocked in EAC. Please fix, if possible <3

Apple Silicon is very powerful: There is also a unified RAM version of the MacBook, so it is very valuable to be able to VRChat on a Macbook.

Since VRChat of iOS is online, it would be better to enable VRChat download on apple silicon devices.
