Avatar tab should default to Owned avatars, not the Avatar Store
Whaddageek
We use our own avatars every day, and the store occasionally in the best use-case scenario.
Why would we want to look at the store every time we want to change avatars.

It doesn't make any sense to always default to the marketplace. Who in their right mind would expect that someone opening the avatar menu is most likely looking to purchase something? I have dozens of avatars I made, I'm just trying to pick from my own uploads. Disruptive, annoying, poor design, feels manipulative. Ugh.

Agreed. It feels intentional, too. Ever since VRC+ came out the UI has been pressuring me towards looking at the monetized sections.

Having the default tab set to the Marketplace is a bit of a disruption to the user experience.
I find myself wondering—why do I have to click one extra time every time I launch the app? It gets a little frustrating, especially when I use it daily.
I believe the best experience for most users would be for the app to remember the last selected tab. (Of course, I understand this might be technically more complex to implement.)

They should just put it in their settings. What you want by default, so it's a win-win on both sides
Whaddageek
Mr Game No, it shouldn't. Predatory UX design should not be encouraged.

I am also of the opinion that the Avatar Market is generally not a bad thing, but when you just want to change your avatar, it currently feels like an annoying pop-up.

I think we all understand that monetization is the primary goal of every business. Marketplace has been announced and we know it exists. However, please don't push it in our face each time we log in. Most of us want to jump into our favorite avatar and begin our activities. We are not in VRChat to shop every time. Again, we know. Leave it at that.

I completely agree that the own uploaded avatars should be chosen as default on first place.

The new interface is tragic, the old one was nice, clean, intuitive and contained everything we needed, instead we now have a new lagging one that forces us to view avatars from the store, I know you want to sell it but you don't have to do it at the expense of users, just give the option of which tab we want to see when we going into menu with avatars and problem solved, is it our uploaded avatars, the store or maybe favorites 1, 2 or 3?
I personally go in my private avatar, and specifically for this reason I have dedicated one list in favorites just for my avatars, because it is impossible to even sort them neatly, as they show up by update.
By the way, I also have a cool idea on how to lighten the load on your sewers, instead of uploading 20cia versions of the same avatar, add an option to make clothes, like a closet, to upload only clothes for a given avatar.
We have tools like VRCF that link clothes to avatars, why not make an official tool that allows you to upload only specially made clothes under one base you have? We will use less from the servers, by the way everything will load faster. Instead of downloading the avatar from scratch every time.
By the way, you could combine it so that people could buy clothes under a specific base in the store itself.
But about that maybe I'll make a separate thread ;p

+ lagging when avatar shop loading images

Yes, the current layout is very disruptive and somewhat predatory.
