Allow ShadowPC players to play VRChat
SunShineRises
Hello. I am making a feature request to VRChat to hopefully convince them to opt in and allow VRChat to run on virtual machines. A few days ago I asked for an update on the Easy Anti-Cheat situation with Shadow PC and they gave me one final update, reading that Epic Games updated it so developers can make VMs an exception, allowing Virtual Machines to play the games that use EAC. I am here to ask VRChat if they can do this to help and let Shadow PC players play VRChat, after being locked out of it since January. They've said it was out of their control, but it seems like it isn't anymore, alongside other developers that use Easy Anti-Cheat. So for all people who use Shadow PC to play Shadow PC specifically to play VRChat in both VR and Non-VR mode, we would appreciate it if you take this into consideration. I will place a screenshot of the email below.
Thank you for your time.

I have one PC where I virtualize windows server, ubuntu server, openwrt router, gaming machine, personal computer and my work station computer. You don't want to have anticheats in background when working with confidential customer's data. And I don't have money to own everything mentioned as standalone device. It's much cheaper, stable, running in RAID disks, lower power consumption etc. It's perfect solution for me. And here we have anticheats that ruin everything. I don't plan to own a standalone windows 11 PC. It's awful unreliable slow piece of latest microslop invention. VRchat was a place where I could go after work and have fun or relax a bit after stressful day. And I'm done. Everything that Epic touches ruins.

Please use the new Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) whitelist feature to allow Shadow PC users back into VRChat.
For those of us on a budget, cloud computing is the only way to experience VRChat the way it was intended. My current hardware (Quest 2 and a basic laptop) can’t handle high-end PCVR worlds or games like Slashco—they lag or crash immediately.
Shadow PC is a paid, persistent service, not a "throwaway" VM used for cheating. Epic Games has now given developers the tools to whitelist specific services; please flip the switch so we can return to our communities!

Well i mean. Thats long time ago that developers can reach Epic Games to do exceptions about EAC.
I play a lot GTA V RP at RageMP, and RageMP uses EAC and i can play without problems at a Virtual Machine. But when i start Vrchat, EAC says "Nope".

MaximohFoxy this is a recent update not old

Just gonna drop this here for history and context purposes.

Deantwo Thank you for dropping the old thread. Unfortunately it is outdated, the context is nice. With this email and other things the Shadow Discord Server has discovered officially after the fact, the old saying that VRChat had no control in the matter is outdated. As of today specifically, Epic Games has updated EAC so that Developers can manually opt into allowing their games to run and whitelist on third party services such as ShadowPC and others.
While VRChat says its outside of their control, they now have control back. Epic Games implemented something new so that developers themselves can choose whether people who use VMs can play or not.
Thank you for your patience. If all of these posts are considered spam, I apologize, our intention was not to cause harm.
