Pimax Hand Tracking is Broken in new update.

kaboomǃ
Hand tracking and finger tracking are now completely broken in the new update, essentially rendering the game "unplayable" to the extent of regular gameplay as well as interactions in game due to the tracking being heavily offset.
Edit moving a statement up to here: Interestingly, the actual position offset fixes itself when entering the SteamVR home menu. I provided a video showing this. So in the steam menu and home, they work perfectly fine. In VRchat the hands will orient themselves properly fingers and everything while the menu is open. As soon as you get back into VRC, it breaks.
This issue is already being tracked in another canny, but given that the update was pushed regardless of the information presented in the canny rather than working on a proper patch first or pushing the beta update back makes it pretty clear that more awareness and information is warranted.
I had already commented on the post there, but I will provide more information here regarding my own personal setup.
I am currently running the live build of VRChat, as it was pushed out of beta about an hour ago. I am running Steam VR Beta 2.8.2. The version of Pimax Play is 1.18.03.01 My Pimax Crystal has the latest firmware.
My index controllers are connected to dongles on my PC, and my FBT is connected two controllers to my headset and one to one of my dongles. My controllers are all going through usb 3.0 or higher.
I have 3 2.0 basestations.
Very disappointingly various vrc developers/ staff on the discord have alluded to the idea that this will not be addressed by VRC and is instead being pushed to the headset developers. Whether this ever actually gets updated or not is entirely up to them. I will not bring up a discussion regarding update politics in this canny here, but this is a rather disheartening middle finger to anyone running pimax headsets at the moment. At the very least I have provided the data I can.

yeah this is unusable for my 5k. i guess no vr till they fix this stupid bug that happened seemingly after 2.8 steamvr
Felis'
Jebadiah The current workaround is to disable skeleton tracking data from the skeleton button in steamvr bindings, this won't fix finger tracking but it will fix the broken fingers and hand offsets, it won't however fix the rotated hands.
The issue seems to be with the way Pimax headsets interface with index controllers, in Pimax's launcher the controllers show up as vive controllers but this was not an issue until the most recent vrc update.
You can select the previous release of steamvr from the betas tab but I have not tested this since i literally just got out of VR.

For this and the merged in issue, has this been resolved by resetting your controller bindings and updating all relevant software at this point?
Or is there still something that is broken on VRChat's side specific to Pimax?

This issue is between SteamVR Beta and Pimax and has been fixed in the current beta release of Pimax Play, V1.29.01.
I have now confirmed that the Pimax+Index controller works correctly in the SteamVR Beta, and accordingly finger tracking and all gestures are working correctly on VRChat.

_tau_This is a Pimax and steamvr interaction it seems. But also how VRC was interpreting the data. Pimax updated things, but steamVR also got involved. I made a forum post and got into contact with valve to discuss the problem. Pimax pushed out a patch, but we'll see if anything else comes up from steamVR betas in the future.
Otherwise resetting bindings wasn't super relevant in this case.

index controller with pimax play cannot "victory" and "fingerpoint".
I reset controller binding to vrchat default.
I can thumbsup, gun, rockenroll and open

It was a problem caused by a change in controller assignments. Before, you could just put your finger on the thumb stick, but after the update, you now have to put it on the B button.

I have done the following steps and have been able to solve the problem in my environment.
- Revert SteamVR to the released version.
- Shut down Steam.
- Run Pimax's Restart Service.
- Start Steam.
- Launch SteamVR.
This issue affects many VR games, not just VRChat.
I think it is more likely that this is not an issue caused by the VRChat update, but between the SteamVR Beta update and Pimax, which may have been delivered at a close time.

Namekotuki I have attempted your fix here, and it has seemed to have fixed it overall. To add in, I shut down steam and pimax fully, as well as reset my controller bindings just to be safe. Things are at least working now, I think you might be on to something.
