[1487] Hands and fingers broken since OB 1487 update
closed

This broke in the 1487 build. Whatever was released the day before 1487 was fine. On 1487, my hands are offset by several cm from the controller positions and finger tracking is not working correctly, with legacy fingers both enabled and disabled. It is completely fine on the live build. Tested on multiple different avatars.
Here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3rw2XpBBbM
I have the camera open so the controller models are rendered, so you can see the offset.
Pimax 5K Super, Index controllers, 2x 1.0 lighthouses
Also happens with trackers on for FBT, makes no difference
Using default SteamVR controller bindings for VRC.

People on https://feedback.vrchat.com/bug-reports/p/pimax-hand-tracking-is-broken-in-new-update have reported some workarounds that seem to fix all issues with Pimax for them. Could you try these and report back if there are still problems occuring on VRChat's end? As before, we are unable to reproduce any issues on our end in the general case.
I will also note, just in case, that build 1487 specifically did not contain any changes related to what is described here, so it is more likely that a different software update at the same time or a SteamVR bindings change may have affected this.

_tau_ Things are working correctly with latest released mainline versions of SteamVR, VRC, and Pimax Client on a 5K Super

MEN I TRY TO FIST GESTURE LOCK MEN AND IT NO WORK ANYMORE I CRY.................................... FIX MEN
kaboomǃ
I have made another canny post regarding this issue, but to keep up the information: here is a video showcasing that the hands go back to normal in the steamVR menu (at least for me) but do not work in VRChat specifically. You can see my hands popping back and forth between "working" and not, based on the menu being opened.
I have spoke to a Pimax employee, they suggested that I update to the newer version of the Pimax software which is unreleased with the app updater and is instead downloaded from their website. The update did not fix this issue.

Yes, this is now broken on live and I have no way to work around this regression. Even if the issue is related to pimax hardware specifically - which appears to be the case, from the multiple reports here - it does not change the fact that it worked fine until these VRC updates.
I will reiterate that it even worked completely fine on earlier builds during this open beta cycle. It broke with whatever changes were made in 1487.

Pimax user here. Just tried to get into VRChat and yes, whatever you deployed has broken my hands. I use index controllers. I use the default bindings.

Simply leaving a comment to say I have this problem as well. Another to the pile of pimax users. Edit: Pimax Crystal, 3 2.0 basestations, index controllers

needs more information
We haven't been able to repro this. Currently the assumption is that this may be driver related, specifically the Pimax is doing something not quite up to spec. We will keep an eye on this, but at the moment aren't able to fix this on our end.
Please report if anything regarding this issue changes!

_tau_Pimax takes over the regular steamvr process and uses their own for their tracking afaik. Also it's Pimax, up to spec isn't in their vocabulary.

I forgot I was running SteamVR beta (to fix an unrelated memory leak when using a different headset). Unfortunately this only complicates matters even more, because the issues with VRC are different depending if I'm on live or beta SteamVR.
Test results as of today:
- SVR live, VRC live- no problems, works the way it always did
- SVR live, VRC beta- hand position is correct, but fingers are stuck in a default resting position and no finger tracking works at all, regardless of legacy fingers setting
- SVR beta, VRC live- no problems, works the way it always did
- SVR beta, VRC beta- same problem as in original video
There are no problems in any case in SteamVR Home both live and beta, although I'm not sure that's a valid test for this issue, as the hands there appear to only use simple position/rotation and grip strength. The ghost controllers in the SVR loading grid work fine too, and show correct data for touchpad thumb position, thumbstick position, trigger position, etc.
Since I was running SVR beta for all prior skeletal input testing, I do not know if this worked on SVR live in pre-1487 VRC open beta.
If there's anything else I can test please let me know.
