Since a recent update, Shadow users can no longer launch VRChat. It feels like we’ve been banned.

After further investigation, we have determined that these issues with Shadow PC are outside of our control, and are not a result of any configurations we have changed. We cannot make changes to VRChat or its configuration that would fix these issues, or future issues with Shadow related to this particular problem.
We understand completely that continued issues with Shadow may come as a disappointment, and that some users utilize Shadow to access VRChat. We feel it too - some of our team members are affected by these problems as well.
While VRChat may work under VMs such as Shadow PC, we cannot guarantee support for any specific VM setup. There are many factors at play and nearly all of them are outside of our ability to affect or control. As we note in our documentation, using VRChat via a Virtual Machine is not directly supported, but is possible to do if you are an interested player with the appropriate technical expertise.
In other words: "it might work, but we can't guarantee it'll keep working, and we won't help you if it breaks." That might sound harsh, but we simply don't have the ability to support these types of setups.
In this particular case, the most we can do is encourage those affected to contact Shadow's support for more information.

I will be visiting here from time to time to see if they fixed the issuse. Seeing how some of these comments are looking. I dont see it coming back anytime soon. But, i hope to see one day, a comment saying "its back" or "its fixed".

Hey! Im nikki im a shadow user and i recently had some free time to play vrchat. Shadow is the only way i can and it bummed me out seeing that i couldn't due to Vrchat not being able to be ran under a virtual desktop. I know this has happened before and they have fixed it. Will they be fixing it again? I really hope so

ღNikkiღ All I know as of the current moment, is that an update with EAC has blocked ShadowPC and ShadowPC are trying to reach (if not already) EAC. This was a week ago however. This is all I know so far. VRChat sadly cannot do anything as of the current moment.

I'm Shadow PC user and I couldn't access VRChat, too... Hope the team fix it.

Found out VRchat doesn't pay for the paid EAC version so they are unable to edit the whitelist option of their own game example being VMs. They make PLENTY from VRC+ yet they choose to stick with free EAC and use their default bans of VMs rather than pay and let ShadowPC people play again.

I've commented before here during the start of my recovery from being smacked into by a car on the 19th November 2025.. In that time I was still able to use shadow pc's access to vrchat and run completely fine for now an almost 3 if not 4 years of service and being on vrchat for even longer than the pc's existence for me. I have had no amazing/outstanding income to consider a "Real PC" and previously they stated they have their own community and own people who run on the same things WE do. My question is rather a curious and a hopeful. if its not VRCHAT or Shadow PC which has no issues to run a different game with EAC, What would cause this problem to happen once more? My curiosity is that it's EAC as the problematic and any other tech-issued related code. IT DID work until the later of this month the start of the new year. I'd like to say that a whole slew of people can't afford what would be most logical due to also computer parts costing more than your own toe could if not just about. (That's a term of phrase) I suggest looking back at what had solved it previously and conduct a more up to date result. Do research.. It can do a lot of good compared to having a whole millions and more people attempting to bash down a system they had also proven to be most in need of, look at how the New year and Christmas started. Now look at how January started. There can be a fix for anything!! So, my end to this comment is, ARE YOU POSITIVE? That there's nothing that can be done. Anything has an answer. its up to whoever to give the right choice for the people (Thanks for reading)

I will say, I have had ShaowPC for almost an entire year. And this is only the 2nd time this has occured. It has been more then a week then the 1st time it's happened. I am unsure what is happening, whether is ShadowPC, EAC, or VRChat itself. I don't know who's at fault here, but. Please fix this, so that way I am able to hangout with my friends again. With how expensive stuff are today, ShadowPC is only what I can afford.

I find it rather amusing that so many seem to push the blame onto the vrc devs when, if I read this right, it's just EAC being weirdly restrictive all of the sudden in regards to VMs.
"Remove EAC" is not a solution when this had worked just fine with EAC enabled, it's clearly not going anywhere.
Seems like other games that use EAC are also affected? Imo EAC is to blame here if they won't work out a way to get EAC to run on cloud computers, be it Shaddow PC or other companies that provide similar services.
Edit: I gotta mention though that yes EAC is annoying and I'd rather have a world where it didn't exist, but we just cant have nice things

Tupper - VRChat Head of Community i do not know why your trying to lie to us cause we contacted EAC and Shadowpc and they are telling us its Vrchat doing on top of that while this was not an issue last year and the year before that i been a ThisShadowPC VR player for ShadowPC VRawhile now and it was cause of your changes your gonna lose a lot of players ShadowPC VR, this should have happend what so ever so please Fix it and stop lying to your community
