Option for switching the walking behaviors during the third-person view.

Currently a person can zoom in and out, as well as hit tab to enter orbit camera when standing still. However after walking forward while there is a camera orbiting, the player model snaps to where the camera is facing and walks forward with lock-strafe. This exits the camera orbiting mode.
As of writing this post, there is a way to press tab while already walking forwards to temporarily turn off lock-strafe and enable both camera orbiting and a 'free walking' mode where the player model turns around without the lock-strafe. Once the player model is still and stops walking, the lock-strafe returns.
My suggestion here as a feature request is that this should be a real option, if at all possible, to have a proper on/off toggle or keyboard binding that will allow people to have the ability to choose between the two player model walking behaviors.
Since it is already possible in the game through tab when walking forwards, why not make it more official? The current implementation feels usable yet temporary. I can't say there would be many use cases, I personally think it'd be cool, like playing a video game.
