New Unity Version freezing inspector tab
needs more information
okgold
I've made two world projects with the new new unity version 2022.3.22f1. In both projects, with only unity and bakery present, I've run into issues where the inspector freezes and you can't make any changes to the contents of that inspector tab. I've only had this happen with materials. When it happens, the rest of unity stays totally functional.
I can refresh this and go back to editing material by selecting the material again in the project window, or by switching from the inspector tab to something else, then back again.
I've been able to produce this bug so far, sometimes from dragging materials onto meshes, and sometimes from saving the project. DM for video examples: okgold on discord.

This issue has fallen into the icebox due to inactivity. Does it still happen?

I still have this issue in 3.8.2

Thanks for following up! I've been having this issue constantly for ~2 years now, yes. I've done multiple clean installs of windows in that time, but it's not impossible this is just something that's been leapfrogging with me from an old SDK, since I'll often open old projects after installing windows / unity /etc.
The error I see when this happens is "TextureImporterInspector.OnInspectorGUI must call ApplyRevertGUI to avoid unexpected behaviour.
UnityEditor.TextureImporterInspector:OnDisable ()"
Here's video of the error happening. I don't usually have to click around so much for this to happen, I just wanted to reproduce.
The only non-vrchat extensions/etc. I bring into projects are Bakery, and Amplify Shader editor. The former is always in my projects, but not always the later.
Many times during day-day development work, the inspector UI will stay broken even after clicking around which can be really annoying, but this error has never kept me from working on VRChat worlds. If I click 20-25 items it will eventually fix itself.
If I could offer some common denominators other than amplify / bakery: I've been using a 4060TI, but previously had a 1080TI as of writing this Canny. I think I've had a 12700k CPU the whole time. I use windows 10. I've previously used "Magic Light Probes" which I only mention because I used "Magic Light Switcher" (same author) and it modified unity on a pretty base level that I had to fix and revert so it wouldn't effect all my other projects.
Let me know if there's anything else I can offer to help do detective work here.

okgold -peas- hey there, I feel like I've had this in other Unity non VRC projects before but curious if that has been your experience as well?

update: after installing windows fresh, I created a new VCC project and was unable to recreate the issue. Once I opened an existing project (including my UI) the problem started happening on that and future projects. I think it's likely this issue is connected with UI layouts, or some other kind of configuration straggling from past unity versions.

I have also had this happen in 2022.3.22f1 avatar projects using Poiyomi Pro 9.1.6 materials in the inspector, with the same symptoms, and same fix.
