Updates to avatars don't show up in-game until after a rejoin or restart

Steps to reproduce:
- Use an avatar.
- Update said avatar in Unity.
- Switch out of the avatar and back into it to refresh it.
Actual result:
The avatar does not update to the latest version. This is only fixed by rejoining the world, but sometimes requires restarting the game entirely.
Expected result:
The avatar updates to the latest version as usual.

Can confirm, this has been annoying the heck out of me. It affects both your own avatars and others. The caching has obviously gotten way too aggressive.

This might be worth an entirely separate canny post but it seems like this could also be affecting impostors. They don't seem to update at all, even after a restart.
(Edit: I mean they don't seem to update when you generate a new one, to be clear.)

ʙɪɢ․ AFAIK, imposters are generated once on an avatar, and are not updated unless you go to the VRChat webpage for your avatar and re-generate impostors. They are fairly computationally expensive to calculate, and they are done server sided (rather than in the editor) so VRChat doesn't update it automatically.

antrobot I'm aware of this. I'm stating that they do not update even when I explicitly delete an old impostor and generate a new one, sorry for the confusion.
