Physbone Components Cause Client Crash At Extreme Distances From World Origin
tracked
Salbug
Physbone components appear to have an issue with them where if you travel far enough from world origin, your client will eventually crash.
Repro:
Go to this world
First use this avatar and go through, observe how you proceed through just fine.
Now start from the beginning with this avatar, and you should immediately crash when entering the room that is approx. 5mil from origin.
I've tested on avatars with and without physbones and only avatars with physbones did I end up crashing.

Can reproduce, but only sometimes. RAM does NOT get steadily higher over time, but instead it just suddenly explodes.
If you can't reproduce, have someone else wear the avatar and go with them

Can confirm that I'm also seeing this. Had to run to the final room but as soon as I did RAM usage spiked to 22GB and the game crashed.
SpaceJackalTim
Also able to confirm and reproduce this issue. Using an avatar scaler will also cause this. above 500x ram usage goes through the roof and starts to lag the game. But only on avatars with physbones
@VoicesShiature
yep pretty much true when I go forward another room another room another room will crashed + Videos = > https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/l270hrwvp45w887nx4yfc/2025-04-18_12-37-37.mp4?rlkey=fqk28ngzut233usk6sullrfuv&e=1&st=p1g7f7ef&dl=0

Was able to reproduce.
In fact this seems to blow up the memory usage on crash, can very much freeze up PCs if not closed fast enough.

Can also confirm, others can trigger it as well. This does not only affect the local player, but all who see the avatar.

There may be more to this than just Physbones. I tried making a simple non-humanoid avatar (so no colliders) with single Physbone and found it doesn't crash.
Through some trial and error, I think I narrowed down the issue. (Avatar Link) The physbone has some non default values.
- 5 Physbone Colliders
- Immobile World 0.9
- Stretch Motion 0.5
- Max Stretch/Squish 0.5
- Is Animated True

I'm also able to replicate this issue. It first appeared on build 1621 and persists in build 1622.
DrBlackRat
Can confirm, made a test version of my Avatar with 0 Phys bones and I did not crash, compared to my normal Avatar which did result in a crash.
