[1885]Please re-add the Avatar Interaction Disabled information
phone2345
In short, we need a way to tell whether interactions are allowed without having to actually try interacting with someone.
The Avatar Interaction Disabled icon was removed from nameplates, but we really need it back.
I think the value of having an interaction icon is that you can know whether two avatars can interact without having to physically touch the other person to check.
Compared to the potential harassment caused by displaying an “interactions not allowed” icon, I think having to touch someone just to confirm their interaction status would be much more awkward. This is especially true for hosts running interactive games, as checking the interaction icons would be much easier than confirming each player individually.

If the Avatar Interaction information doesn't need to be displayed on the nameplate can we at least have it when viewing the user or items dropped by the user through the QM?
Others in here have already gone over the avatar interactions. I would like to bring up Item interactions as they're also tied to the Interactions setting.
I've been in instances where two or more players have tried to use Items w/ other Items that interact with each other, like the Campfire and Marshmelow, but aren't getting the interaction cause one user has their interactions off.
In the past the interaction icon made it easier to 'debug' the issue.
My proposal would be to add the icon to the user's profile when viewing them through the QM and/or on their nameplate in the menu when viewing the item they spawned.

They removed features as "Niche" when I most certainly used it all the time. Nameplates are a convenience that they're turning into commodity and as well as making the nameplate functionality worse for nothing. What is this update? And we've all complained about this for the few weeks they had it removed. I really don't understand why we don't have this back yet. It was such a nice thing to have at a glance and now we have to click on EVERYONE in the instance if we need to know. It's such a pain to have to drop what you're doing to open a menu and it's SIGNIFICANTLY less fluid and smooth to make quick decisions in the moment where cannot interact with someone's avatar.
And for a social game, embarrassing yourself because you didn't know someone's interactions were off when you were trying to have fun really ruins jokes. This update being pushed to live before they actually addressed complaints we've made well beforehand is just... crazy. Quite a few of us wanted this icon back.

I also participate in a fencing group where Contacts are a core part of the gameplay. We can simply check each other’s icons instead of poking someone with a weapon to see whether they bleed.
By the way, detecting PhysBones or Contacts cannot 100% determine whether interactions are enabled, since these components also have their own settings for whether they can interact with others.

I think this may also be related to cultural differences and social norms. In Japanese and Chinese cultures, people tend to avoid touching others casually and often check whether someone is comfortable with physical contact first.
If someone’s nameplate shows the Avatar Interaction Disabled icon, they may simply avoid touching them without necessarily asking for permission, maintaining a comfortable social distance.
Because of this, I think this icon may be particularly important for Japanese and Chinese users.

If the main reason for removing this icon is to avoid cluttering the nameplate, perhaps it could be displayed only when the avatar debug menu is opened.

This information is also very important to me as an avatar creator, since it is the difference between “Oh your interactions are off, turn them on” and “Oh this avatar must be broken, no longer interested”.
