Since the last couple weeks I have a performance issue when I'm playing VRChat in Desktop mode.
When ever I move my mouse to look around it drastically stutters and my FPS drop to single digits.
This also depends on how long the game has been running.
After 10 min it only drops from 120fps to around 100 but after 60 min I'm at sub 1 fps and the audio even cuts off. But when I stop looking around, my FPS stabilise instantly back to 120fps
This issue only happens with mouse inputs. When I use the keyboard keys to turn left or right my fps stay at 120.
My fps also drop when I open any menu in game and move the cursor.
I did some more tests and found out:
  • This issue does not happen if I'm the only player in the world. Even after 60min no issue.
  • As soon as I join someone and I'm not the only player in the instance it starts to slowly degrade. It will only recover when I restart VRChat.
  • This issue does not happen when I'm in VR.
  • background Log collection is turned off
