I emphasize on the great usefulness of storing the DateTime of when the photo was taken in the DateTimeOriginal field of the EXIF Metadata of the file.

+ All photography software (editing, archiving) rely on this info to order pictures chronologically, otherwise they have to rely on file creation time (does not goes well with copies, tranfers..)

+ Stays there when the file is renamed/copied/modified
