Forgive my long-winded post.
I get that the game is meant primarily for VR, but this is a relatively minor request, and I'm really not even sure if this is a bug, or if it was intentional.
Anyways, only being able to move at one speed is very problematic in some worlds, especially worlds where the sprint speed is set VERY high, desktop has no analog control to decrease speed.
Crouching or going prone doesn't always solve this either as oftentimes they too are affected by a flat number increase in sprint speed, it is also quite awkward as opposed to simply releasing a sprint button or tapping the button a second time.
Let's not forget anyone who's put work into locomotion animations -Specifically walk cycles- that are primarily going to be used by desktop users.
With all that said; Sprint being a togglable function is a pretty important aspect of movement in the game, and this update to the open beta removed it, at least on desktop.
So, I would like to keep the normal ability to walk if desired, and if there is a need to go faster, Shift should keep the same functionality it had before this update.
Make an option to have Shift toggle sprint, or even the option to remove the button's functionality -like how it is in this update- if holding it down isn't what you want. But leave the original option of "hold to sprint" there, it's nice to have.
If this is not a bug and is intentional, there are less-destructive, more convenient ways of solving auto-sprint than a full removal of the sprint function.
Thank you for reading this unnecessarily long post.
