[1433] Revert Remote User Camera Shutter Sound on "World" Volume
complete
gummyd
Please revert the change with remote users' camera shutter sounds being controlled by "World" volume instead of "UI" volume. At least, this shouldn't be done without providing an option to mute or control remote camera shutter sounds separately
There are different reasons why users might disable the camera sound, but mine is that it's really disruptive in large event instances where people are taking a lot of photos, and all you hear is *shutter
shutter
shutter*. Muting UI sounds before was more like an ok workaround since UI sounds aren't essential. But now that it's tied to world volume, it's pretty much impractical to turn off, especially in music focused event worldsSee also this highly voted past canny: https://feedback.vrchat.com/feature-requests/p/be-quieter-the-camera-shutter-sound

This change has been reverted, and the camera shutter sound will be on the UI slider once again in the next build (might go straight to live, might have another beta)
Thanks for the feedback!

May I ask why this change was even done in the first place?
I'm a bit curious as it seems like such an odd / random thing to do out of the blue.
DAG-XR
DrBlackRat I don't like the fact that it's tied to World volume; I would prefer to be set to the UI.

I always turn on the shutter sound because I don't like to find myself unaware that someone is taking pictures of me. However, it is not a favorable experience to have the shutter sound also go up when the world volume is turned up. This is not resolved by 1434 either. I would like to see a return to the previous specification.

I heard someone say, "I sometimes mute the world volume when the world is too noisy. But if I do so, I can't hear the remote user's camera shutter and I can't be aware that I'm being filmed, so this change is not good for me."
This is not solved by the "Suppress Remote-Player Camera Shutter Sound" option added in 1434.

[1434] There is an option to toggle remote player's camera shutters but it is still in "World" volume which is intentional.
I feel that the toggle gives more reason for it to be back in "UI" volume since it's not something that is apart of the world the creator made and also fixes the issue where a user with "World" volume off (due to loud music or other things) cannot hear a remote player's camera shutter. The toggle is good for people who want to record events without the camera shutter sounds but also good for the general players who listen to their own music or don't like the world's music.

Yea this is mega confusing for people, especially at large events. if you do chose to make it separate option please make it easier to find. it can be very difficult when trying to tell people the laundry list of caveats when introducing them to the platform and this is another one. It also could make things a rough for content creators who drive your platform.

I'm on 1433 and i have UI/Menu sound disabled and no camera shutter sound. turning ui/menu on turns shutter sound on too

This seems like a decision with actually zero throught put into it.
I mute UI sounds just so I don’t have to hear camera clicks at events, but now I have no choice.
:(

nice thanks VRC, this means i need to record the vrcdn on it's own for now and allign stuff manually c:
Please revert and give us a mute button for that while you are on it, thaaaaaaaanks

This also heavily impacts people making video content in events. You'd usually mute voices & UI to only have the event's world audio in the recording. Now there's no way to get clean recordings without the
