[1342] Quest performance is much worse on new Unity version
complete
Undertrash
Worlds on Quest [2, v57 PTC] seem to be much laggier than before. I compared framerates in empty instances from Live and Open Beta.
In The Shore by Blue Cat, my framerate dropped from 72 to 36.
The Conservatory by TOADSTORM dropped from 46 to 15.
I'm not sure how specifically to reproduce this.

This should be fixed in the current AppLab build.

_tau_: I confirm the performance issue is solved in my case and even slightly better.

Just to confirm, I've carried out a frame rate comparison on my Quest Pro after performing a factory reset. This involved uninstalling and then reinstalling both the VRChat app and VRChat [Beta] app.
The frame rates for both versions were indeed consistent, confirming that the issue has been resolved. Thank you for addressing the problem!

[1342] In Unity 2022 Beta Frames Drop badly when opening menu.
Spiro Renard
In the latest VRChat Beta, which introduces Unity 2022, there is a noticeable and concerning drop in frame rates when accessing the quick menu or any menu in the application. This drop in performance is severe, causing frame rates to plummet from a stable 40-50 fps down to a mere 10 fps for a few seconds. What makes matters worse is that this lag adversely affects the play space mover functionality, making it difficult for other programs to keep up due to the persistent lag.

The severe frame drop issue was replicable on Quest Pro (v56).
I've cleared all content caches, switched to Robot—the most commonly used official avatar—and entered a new Invite-Only Instance of VRChat Home, which is the most popular world. I've checked the performance, and the results can be seen in the attached image.
Therefore, it appears that this issue is not related to the META QUEST firmware, the avatar, or the world. Instead, it seems to be associated with some changes that were made when the VRChat client was updated to Unity 2022.3.5.
Naturally, the performance worsens as more people enter the instance, making it practically impossible to enjoy VRChat comfortably. This issue clearly needs to be addressed before the Open Beta phase concludes.

I checked my own worlds and noticed the same frame rate drop, I then checked the basic VRChat Home world and noticed that it's there too.
I noticed that OVR Metrics shows a better frame rate than the one indicated in the debug menu. Seems the menu causes quite a drop itself.

I confirm the performance is horrible, from stable 72 FPS to 27 FPS in my world. It's about 3 time slower in an empty instance with a single excellent avatar

This seems to be partially because the eye tracking SDK is still in the beta. I get 72fps in my home on live, and 24fps in my home on beta.

Yeah, it's so bad. Fps is literally halved than live build.
