There I was: a humble yet-innocent VRChat user, idly deciding to see how the tooltips (of which I almost always keep disabled) fared against the plethora of new options in the long-fabled UI2.0 main menu.
All was relatively well in the kingdom, when to my utmost horror... I noticed...
a flaw.
A flaw so grave- in fact- that it felt as if the very earth beneath me was crumbling apart, and I immediately fell onto the ground in a fit of vertiginous despair.
The tooltip for the MSAA option in Advanced Graphics Settings... suggests that aliasing would be
increased
with a subsequent heightening of sample counts, rather than
decreased
, as the function is
intended
to achieve by design.
My horror didn't stop there, for I quickly noticed that
the fundamental NATURE of the setting itself should be called into question
, as it was actually an option for Multisample ALIASING all along!!! Not an "anti-" in sight!!!!
What is this option? What is the point of this option?! Is the fact that it's hidden at the bottom of the Performance menu under "Advanced Graphics Settings" VRChat's attempt at hiding THE TRUTH??!?!? HAVE THE DEVELOPERS BEEN SCHEMING TO MAKE US ALL SUBTLY ACCEPT ALIASING MORE AND MORE IN OUR LIVES; BEING PAID OFF BY MAJOR HEADSET MANUFACTURERS SO THAT THEY NO LONGER NEED TO INNOVATE PUSHING HIGHER PIXEL DENSITIES FOR FUTURE HARDWARE????????!?!?????????????!?!?!?!??!?!?!???
WHAT WILL
THEY
ADD ALIASING TO NEXT.... OUR VERY SOULS??????????????????????????????????????????????????????
(I also found the tooltip for the UI > Visuals > Background Designs dropdown to be the same as the Verbose Mode Settings dropdown; duplicated prefab? lol)
