This was implemented in a previous Open Beta update!
Entorix
Tupper - VRChat Head of Community: Was it though? We can only send bools and 0 or 1 for ints...
Tupper - VRChat Head of Community
Entorix: It was. There is no in-between state for contacts-- either you're touching it, or you're not.
If you need to set a different value, you should use a Parameter Driver.
Entorix
Tupper - VRChat Head of Community: I think it would still be nice to directly set the value (whatever is specified) via the contact. It would streamline a lot of stuff.
Netcat~
Entorix: I Agree

Tupper - VRChat Head of Community: That's just making more work for something that could be done directly though. If I have, say, a keyboard I want to poke on that does different toggles, it'd be far easier having them all on the same Int and swap among them depending on what I poke.
Netcat~
Whaddageek: it would also be great to have a toggle for sync parameter directly tbh
ZenithVal
This would be much easier for simple stuff.

Actually given the nature of how they're being used; Any chance we could get Triggers for this too?
JCity
And I didnt know it had this limitation. Ive been pulling my hair out yesterday since it didnt want to send the values from my receivers. It didnt help that it worked using bools in playmode but not ingame. I should have read the documentation more..

Sounds really nice.
If available, we no longer need an Animator Controller layer which proxies value to Expression Parameter!

Upvote for Bool for sure, sometimes simplicity is great!
Netcat~
eloderung: Yeah simplifying the process is also what will get more people hooked on it
Whaddageek
eloderung: I'm surprised Bool wasn't the default, considering all that really matters for 99% of use cases is gonna be "Is this being touched? Yes/No"
