[1137] Users blocking you cannot be kicked from the instance by instance owner
complete
bd_
In live, if you're blocked by a disruptive user, they do not appear in social. However, as instance owner it's still possible to kick them by using a workaround: selecting a different user, and using the next/prev arrows on the user details page to select them and kick them.
However, in 1137, this is not possible; the user blocking you is unselectable on the here page, and by left/right arrows on other user pages. This makes instance owner/world owner kick useless - any bad actor can avoid it simply by blocking the instance owner.
Here's a video demonstrating the workaround on live, and how there is no option to kick a user blocking you on open beta: https://youtu.be/Y6Ir0XbwJZQ
Blocking instance owners is already being abused on live, and this will make it worse. Please ensure that instance and world owners can see and select all players on the here page, even if one is blocking the other.

As extra mod to community events i need to be able to tell whos in the instance and manage it when the instance master/owner is away. This current masking of users blocking me to get around my moderation is wrong.

ACiiL: agreed

ACiiL: 100%. And even as a normal user, I need to be able to see invisible users so I can initiate a votekick. I don't understand why this information is hidden.

ACiiL: Also agree. The current implementation is needlessly half finished. There is no logical reason to restrict other users from being able to see this same information. This should not have been locked to a limited role. Half baked sadly and doesn't actually solve the core issue. The ability to see users blocking you in an instance in the social/here menus should be universal for everyone. Dropped the ball.

Technobabel: The system added to build 1145 is still not a complete solution to the problems people have posted about. World and instance owners having exclusive access to the "user who have you blocked" is a bad thing.
People in public worlds can't start votekicks against anyone who has them blocked (from my experience votekicks never even start properly). If you are helping moderate a large instance, you can't properly inform the instance/world owner of the bad actor. As other comments have noted, this is simply further driving people to use alternative tools like log parsers, the in-game players list debug menu, and malicious client modifications to provide basic information that by all means should exist.
Hiding the list of people who have you blocked only in the social menus serves no purpose. They are still in the world. They will produce notifications in Udon powered worlds with player join/leave notifications. They will still be able to pick up objects and interact with the functions in a world. Not only is the current system counterproductive, it is ineffective.
This needs to be fixed before it becomes another half-thought-out half-assed "feature" that further drives people to download cheats for a game where you talk to people.

KajAgreed. This is only "half" complete.
Honestly just unlocking the Blocked you section to everyone instead of locking it to world owner would solve most of this.

Technobabel: If by "Complete" you mean half finished then sure. Sadly this implementation is indeed flawed and unfinished.

The current implementation of the blocking system is flawed. This may be a good time to consider addressing this as the "Here" Menu would be a perfect use case for the proposed changes.
Issue: When a user blocks you, you can't see them in social. Limited admin tools for Instance Owners can make this an issue. It can also make initiating a vote kick difficult to impossible. It can also create further abuse by allowing someone to spite block people in return for being blocked, target block instance owners and masters or target block world authors. Instance Owners are also not always around, leading to openings for abuse where the lobby doesn't have any realistic courses of action as they may be blocked by the malicious user.
Proposal: Emulate something similar to Discords blocking methodology. Blocking should not hide users from the "Here" menu. If you join an instance with someone who has you blocked, you should be able to tell by looking at the "here" menu. You shouldn't be able to interact with this person, a block should indeed mean a block, but you should be able to tell they're indeed in the lobby. This would remove spite blocking entirely as even if two people block each other, they can still see that they are in the lobby or not so makes it entirely moot. This also wouldn't negate the Instance Owner, world author, or world moderators from taking action as even if they get maliciously blocked, they can still see the person in "Here" and take action as needed.
Gist: Everyone should be able to see blocked users and users who have them blocked via the "Here" menu but not interact with them. This would fix the main crux of the problem.

M E R C: yes exactly like in most cases you know someone has you blocked even if there not in social that wont change, and people who rather not cause drama and would rather leave wont have a way to tell till usually to late. in general iv seen this be far more harmful and obused than helpful

In my opinion, the fact that you are blocked by someone in an instance, should never be a hidden fact. One could even argue that it should be easier to find out if someone in the instance has you blocked.
It is incredibly disruptive to the social experience to hang out with friends, and have someone in the instance that has you blocked, and you don't realize it, causing confusion and awkwardness for everyone when you try to figure out why the conversation seems disjointed without continuity.
As well, hiding this information from the user harms those who play the game without mods, while those with mods have all the benefits to work around these kinds of situations.

EvolvedAnt: exactly like in most cases you find out anyway. most of the time if someone has me blocked its for a reason not always a good one but still a reason and i would rather know and be able to leave to not cause drama. then stay in the instance and find out the hard way. like people who haras others and like general toxic people that this was ment to target so they cant see who blocked them does nothing as those are the types that will just get malicious clients. this only hurts normal people who rather not cause drama.

this will additionally just make a larger divide between api tool and client users. as a normal user you literally can't kick or do anything if somone blocks you there's so many ways to exploit this. the only ones able to get around it are client users who are unaffected and people who know how to use vrcx and other log parsing tools to see whose in the instance which isent alot of people. im saying this for everyone who host events or anything that would be a target for bad actors. this is going to be exploited so badly. dont wana follow rules at a event or crash lobby and haras someone just block everyone who can stop or kick you. i really hope this isent in the final version.

sorry for kinda ranting iv just been on the receiving end of this stuff before. and hope it doesn't stay this way

Additionally, hiding people in the social list that you have blocked or vice versa is completely pointless, and as this post has indicated is even impractical.

ya i noticed this. all hiding blocked people does is give malicious people more power. like usually its obvious if someone who blocks you is in the lobby when people are talking to nothing. iv seen it far more often used by malicious people to get away with stuff for longer by blocking the owner or like admins in events. like i understand removing it from obvious view even if i dont agree with they. but removing it everywhere only helps bad people. like malicious people can already still see you if you block them usually.
