I have flightstick, rudder-pedals, throttles, and some pads connected on PC. They ALL have control issues when playing in VRChat.
Would you create all gamepad disabling feature, as simple as
--disable-gamepad

I like to have VRChat open while I play other games, and I cannot use a controller because of this issue. VRChat, even when unfocused, reads all of my controller inputs. I would really like to be able to play other games with a controller while I have VRChat open. Having an option to disable controller input would be an absolute godsend.

This is honestly getting ridiculous as I've spent far to many hours trying to figure out ways to disable this or find a work around, instead of playing games. People hang out in VRChat to talk with friends while playing other games. This isn't so unusual. And it can't be that hard of a fix, unless you guys have some how painted yourselves into that much of a corner with your input system code.
Work arounds have been found, but then as things change with Steam, those work arounds break themselves.
I might just be venting some frustration here, but this one has been one of those, "An issue for far too long" issues, where a lot of major features I care far less, and took a lot more time to develop, have gotten through, over a simple fix...

In my case the Idea was to be in VR while being able to play another game with controller on desktop and streaming that to a video player in the world I am in.
The streaming part works perfectly fine, blocking controller input to VRC does not, since there is seemingly no way to make VRC NOT detect input even when unfocused. All gamepad inputs on VRC side have been unmapped, disabling or enabling Steam Input doesn't change anything, neither starting VRC without Steam. I focus the other game and when moving around there, it moves me in VRC as well with the controller, which is ridiculous at best. I checked the vrc docs and there is nothing related of course aside the explanation for gamepad support.
A simple launch option, checkmark ingame or whatever to disable all gamepad input, would be the easiest straight forward solution.

I am building a FPV drone world in Udon.
It is difficult to assign gamepad inputs to drone controls on XBoxes and other game pads because the sticks are assigned to move and change the viewpoint.
It would be useful if the ability to assign gamepad inputs to VRChat operations could be disabled and made available to Udon as an option, even if it is just a command line argument.
Also, when receiving custom device input as World OSC in the future, it would be inconvenient to have it assigned to VRChat operations because the custom device is an XInput.
