VRChat to implement Oceania servers
Stoggy
VRChat should strongly consider implementing Oceania servers into the server listings.
Australians and New Zealanders have long struggled with the high latency issues and transmission delays between USA, EU, and JP servers. On a really good day, we would be lucky to achieve a minimal ping of around 250 on a Japanese server. The next best would be the USA West servers hovering around 270 - 310+ ping.
For example but not limited to; karaoke worlds are a highly disadvantaged activity for Oceania players to get involved with as our voices can severely delay with the songs, and sometimes cut out audio while singing. Not to mention the sometimes constant disconnection with worlds, even when using high-speed Australian internet. This is certainly off-putting and sometimes not even worth playing VRChat.
If the northern hemisphere players have the advantage and enjoyment of being close to their own local servers, why can’t the southern players enjoy it too? The Aussie and Kiwi player base will surely increase on the VRChat platform if the devs decide to include new Oceania servers in their budget. A VRC developer may not read this, but I’m sure it’s a good start somewhere for us Aussies and Kiwis to be heard.

I know I'm super late, but as an Australian player, the lack of local servers remains a massive hurdle for the Oceania community.
Currently, players in this region are forced to connect to Asian servers (Japan) or US servers, resulting in a consistent 200+ ms ping. In a social and physics-heavy platform like VRChat, this high latency makes many community-made worlds, competitive games, and fast-paced interactions practically unplayable. I actively avoid playing the games people have made because of this high ping, you just end up sitting in world hubs instead (#theblackcatforlife).
Australia and the wider Oceania region have a massive, highly active VRChat player base. The game feels extremely sluggish and laggy at high ping over here, but that could be completely fixed with Aus servers!
Please consider finally adding AU/OCE server instances! C:
(also to whoever said it's racist to not have aus servers.. that's not it 😭)

its to a point its racist due to where AU is as big as USA and they get two servers but AU gets none, so at least having a server in AU to lower ping is a need not a want to have a good experience in there game for all users.

This is something we've been dying for in Australia & NZ. Sure server costs are expensive here, and bandwidth might be an initial issue, but truthfully as someone who does pay for VRC+, I'm a bit disappointed that there's still no clear direction for us in down-under-land. We're forgotten about constantly, and we're still a large enough community to be recognised!
We have our own subcommunities and host events on VRC, but having US-West the best (and most stable compared to JP) servers as the only viable option is laughable. We all live in the same country, yet we aren't even able to talk without 200+ms ping. It'd be bloody nice to have a convo with a fellow Aussie/Kiwi without accidentally talking over one another.
Vote this please!~

SunflowerTwix: I agree! There is so much potential for Australians and New Zealanders to be involved in VRC! We are seriously neglected in every way, it really is disappointing!
I would happily pay for VRC+ to put towards server fees if my experience in VRC wasn't unplayable with the outrageously high latency pings!
