Variable player run speed

Allow for a slider, 50% speed being the default and current run speed. My proposal is to have the slider be exponential. The higher the bar, the more increase it gives exponentially, and vice versa. OR have a speed variable that can be tied to an avatar. This might be the better alternative, to allow walk animations to match the movement speed per avatar.
I know it can be frustrating to get around larger maps, and with larger avatars running in place (or so it appears)

But wait, is this effecting ALL players in a world or can it effect each player individually? And can this be done on the avatar itself? Being able to adjust speed of a player from the Avatar itself, not just a room setting is the suggestion.

Kalista Phoenix: So VRC_PlayerMods can be applied for everybody in a world or can be applied on a per player basis. For instance, a player could pick up a shoe object and be granted super speed while they're holding it.
Is that what you're asking for? Or something different?
Kalista Phoenix
gg67: Well the main reason I request this is giant characters having issues with movement, feeling slow, and animations not matching, and was hoping I could have my avatar move faster to go with the size. However that idea is neat that can be done, but it is more of an avatar aspect, not exactly a world issue.

Kalista Phoenix: Ah, so I misunderstood the request. It's more-so about matching avatar animations and movement speed so they line up?
Kalista Phoenix
gg67: Partly yes, it would be nice to have just that, but also allow giants to move faster, because it feels sooo slow, but if that can't be added, I'll just have to make due with having a custom world where players can have their speeds adjusted there manually with perhaps some scripts, but if we can have walk animations go in sync, that would be great too
As it is right now, I move the joystick all the way, and my feel like I'm running place (animations too fast), I nudge my joystick, and I slide along the ground I look like a slow-mo ice skater (animations too slow)
But my original idea was to have it so players can set in their own options, or in Avatar SDK, a variable that determines that avatar's base speed

Kalista Phoenix: Agreed. I'd like to see something like "scale IPD" for the walking speed. A small avatar is slower, human size walks normal(maybe adjustable +/- x%) and giant models walk faster.
Of course the actual walking and animation speed should match each other. And what about custom non humanoid rigs? I'd like to see my horse running much faster than humans, regardless of the world I'm in...

Hi Darkvulpine,
This result can be accomplished via the VRC_PlayerMods(https://docs.vrchat.com/docs/vrc_playermods) which has been broken for the last few months. Today's 0.12.0p2 patch will fix this component. Using PlayerMods, you can modify player speeds, jump height and others.
We'll likely have other solutions for this in the future, but at least we have a way to do it now!
