I would like it to turn off when unmuted so I don’t have to see that low opacity outline

Very important for me is that turning it off gets saved (not like HUD disable, where it always comes back after restart).

Maybe this should a litte bit more advanced and become configurable hud. enable/disable like with finger indicator or face mirror

I would like the mic to go invisible when not talking personally, rather than completely gone. Maybe as a multi option, that has a completely hide as well.

I'm not arguing against the ability to hide the mic and other icons, but at the same time I propose to slightly change the shape and transparency of the mic during playback so that it's more noticeable.

Sometimes the HUD audio and silence mic icons are very hard to see. This is because the shape of the icon with and without sound is the same, but the transparency is only slightly different. This allows unintended audio to be heard by other players.

Seeing the mic icon always on my face genuinely makes me uncomfortable like a eyelash in my eye and I don't want to turn off invites/requests. If the argument against this is people way not know they are muted and elad to unintended situations the hud toggle already causes this issue and its in the game! And tbh it's not a issue at all

Having a HUD element stuck to my face gives me motion sickness, so i am forced to turn off the HUD to hide the mic icon. But then i cant recieve invites or requests from friends. This messes with my social life, and I dont have a choice because I dont want to throw up from motion sickness. I have other friends who feel the same way. Please implement a simple toggle for the mic icon.

Yeah could be good to finally implement that 5 minutes coding "mod" after more than 3 years. ;)

yup, would be great to not have the mic icon shown except for the "Muted" icon when actively muted.

This would still be useful to have.
