Please consider adding an audio option for non-binaural Steam Audio output.
VRChat currently appears to render spatial audio to stereo, even when the Windows output device is configured as 5.1. This works well for the common headphone use case, but it means users with surround speaker setups cannot hear spatialized voices from their actual speaker directions.
Steam Audio supports non-binaural spatialization using the user's speaker layout when binaural rendering is disabled. If VRChat could expose this as an audio option, it would allow desktop users with 5.1 or 7.1 speaker systems to hear voices and world audio from the correct physical directions.
A simple version of this feature could be:
* Binaural / headphone output, current behavior
* Speaker layout output, using the OS speaker configuration such as stereo, 5.1, or 7.1
I understand this may be a niche use case, but it would be useful for desktop users with surround speaker setups, speaker-based accessibility setups, and some recording or installation workflows.
Thank you for considering it.
