This issue has recently resurfaced in Japan, and some users are even saying, "If you don't want to be streamed, don't come to public instances in the first place." It is impossible to avoid users who are already streaming in advance, and we believe that user streaming status alone cannot provide protection.
For instance,During streaming status, a logo and copyright notice will be displayed on the screen to prove that the streaming is legitimate.
Regular users have the option to allow or disallow streaming, and those who set their status to disallow streaming should not be visible to users with streaming status (or should be masked or muted).
Of course, I do not believe this will prevent everything.
I hope you will take into account that some users do not want to see more easy streamers.

I believe the risk for harassment is much larger towards the common user being recorded or streamed without their consent, rather than the streamer. I know concern about being unknowingly recorded is stopping people from going to places they would like to go otherwise.
If you're streaming somewhere where you run the risk of being harassed, maybe you should be streaming from elsewhere... In particular if that harassment is not just kids being edgy, but maybe people that don't want to be recorded (OTOH the proper conduct in this case would be to just leave when you see someone is recording or streaming).
Just my 2 cents. (And personally, I certainly don't really mind appearing in streams myself, especially if I have prior or situational knowledge of this fact)

xantoz・ザントス: Don't confuse recording with streaming, though. Plenty of us record to keep precious memories to rewatch later and never intend to share. On the other hand, with streaming, there is an explicit thrusting of everyone in frame into the public eye, like turning a live television camera onto a scene IRL.

xantoz・ザントス: ah no, actually those common users are the ones that get toxic, like.. dude okay i won't stream you, get away from me then. Nah they want to come up to you and shout racial slurs so you get banned
CyanoTex
Julian Astrum: "Fuck around and find out". But yeah, the fact that they have the audacity to do that on camera, knowing it could be used as evidence against them in a report, is amusing.

Would love this function but again this gonna cause griefers/crashers/harrassment agianst streamers

A good compromise for the people that don't want to be targeted would be for the "streaming" status to be only view-able in every world type except public, so that if someone is in a public world no one can really see if they are streaming, and people that want to be in a large instance with friends in a friends+ world can still feel safe. Though I feel is someone really wanted to target a streamer they would just go to the stream and figure out a way to the world somehow.

Also, I'm sure people would like a "Hide users in Streaming Mode" as an option as well. Lots of people are uncomfortable being recorded/streamed.

Well i think this status should only be visible for friends only and not on any other public as it will risk streamer and all thier friends they are with.
while yes, this is good way to tell people that there is streamer around, it is unfortunately true that there is bad people that will use this feature to target specifically streamers, and with that also innocent people who just happen to be in area can get hit by scriptkids and crashers.
migero
KimplE: good u dont call them hackers
cus they are not
K
KimplE
migero: hackers are ones who actually make the code and stuff, scriptkids are just people who dont actually know much about how things work but use the hack made by others

KimplE: couldn’t have said it better myself
Dylan Drakeos Flemming
KimplE: Agreed this worrisome if streamers get targetted by people like nude models and such
migero
also add lewding to the list
Demirramon
migero: NSFW stuff is technically not allowed, why would you want a "ban me" status?
migero
Demirramon: u can do what u want in priv and friends only just dont make it public
migero
trust me i joined on many people that did that and wish i would rather not
Demirramon
migero: I know you can, all I'm saying is that they won't make a specific status for something they don't support. You can set custom status so you could use that

This can be good or bad. Yes it should be common curtesy in a public world to let people know they're on stream, on the other hand it's like you're putting a big red crosshair on yourself to attract all kinds of nasty people trying to be "funny" or "edgy" or just plain crash you cause you're streaming.

This is a very Fine Implemention, u get a thumbs up.
