SLI / VRWorks / Multi-GPU Support
Wing
VRChat is a GPU intensive game. No matter how hard the developer tries, community created contents will always be un-optimized somehow. Even with the latest GPU, the game couldn't even maintain a smooth VR 45fps when a few groups of people are in the same room. I believe some of us are willing to pay for SLI to get higher frame rate.
I also understand this isn't a high priority problem but since I couldn't find any SLI related request so I opened one here.

This!! I was about to open the same request. +1 on this idea!

The 2020 pandemic has also lent weight to the idea of just re-buying and SLI-ing the same card you already have instead of spending hundreds of dollars (or moping around, given how unobtainable video cards are right now due to bots and scalpers).
Unity has a free NVIDIA VR-SLI (one card per eye) plugin here: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/particles-effects/nvidia-vrworks-83505 - if VRChat implemented it I would have no reason to upgrade.

It would just be worth it adding vrworks for the Multi Res shading with gets you 50% + PERFORMANCE so adding vr works for sli is also beneficial for people that don't have sli , also is cheaper to get 2x 1080 ti than a rtx 2080 ti and is 2 times better for the same price

rotus Thexmaster: note that MRS has some shader compatibility issues with grabpass shaders, might be best to add this along with the Unity 2018 LTS migration to avoid multiple painful compatibility breaks

I have a Ryzen 2700 with 2 GPUs and I still crash from time to time. From 90fps to crashing to desktop. Please for the love of VR, support multiple GPUs. This game is only as optimized as the community content.

So many factors in play when it comes to this Crock pot of a mess we call VRChat. Let me explain. You have creators of the world who may or may not optimize it. You have creators of avatars that may or may not optimize it. Then you have the developers of VRChat that may or may not... dare i say it, optimize what ever they are currently working on. Basically with a game... or better yet a "Social Media" outlet like this i don't think SLI or Crossfire support is going to do much. My build needs updating but i have a 4790K and 2 1080ti's. Guess what... VRChat is still not where it needs to be. Trust me im not trying to bash your idea Wing but i dont see it fixing anything :/ <3

Gavinoǃ: Thanks for your reply! I understand SLI won't make VRC run at smooth 90fps, it won't fix anything yes, but at least we will gain more fps, which, some people are willing to pay for.
Actually in SteamVR, we can see whether fps is bounded by CPU or GPU. Yes, VRC is sometime bounded by CPU but is also sometime bounded by GPU. SLI may increase fps when it is bounded by GPU.
By the way, it depends on your HMD but seems like you are more likely bounded by your CPU rather than GPU

the game actually uses your Gpu more then Cpu. atleast on my RTX 2070 its fully load while cpu is around 15-20%

I have a similar experience on my system as well

I wellcome SLi supporting!

The game actually uses CPU WAY more than gpu

Kitten: it really depends. I've seen it be CPU bound, but I've also seen it GPU bound - on my 1080ti.
