Separate chatbox 2.0 control from audio control in earmuff mode.

The chatbox 2.0 becomes more transparent the farther they are and then vanishes, however, It does not sync up to how some people's hearing/deafness works and doesn't account for people with hypersensitivity, disability, conditions, or needs.
Separating the audio and chatbox controls into their own individual controls would greatly help people with different sensitivities and needs.
Some need the audio earmuff circle a certain size and the chatbox circle wider, especially if they're hypersensitive to sounds, or get easily overloaded by how many people they find vocally talking in an area. Maybe they're having a Sensory Overload Panic where they need the earmuff super small and need the audio outside of the circle completely muted, but still need to see chatboxes at a distance... I myself fall into this circle.
For others, they need the chatbox circle smaller than the audio circle, they may be going to rave events where they want to communicate with their buddies and strangers in a specific area, but do not want their view obstructed by other people using chatboxes in the crowd outside of the area and still want to hear everything that's happening at the event.

Totally agree!
For my case, I'd be happy with initially just having a basic on/off toggle, like how you can choose if earmuff mode affects avatar sounds.
I'm happy with seeing chatboxes at any distance, but sometimes I need my earmuff zone to be as small as a 1m radius in crowded places.

yall show make it so i can seperate textbox by ranks in the shieldd setting as well
MakerKath
As in add a on/off chatbot toggle to safety settings just like how the voice has a toggle on/off by rank? Sounds fair.

MakerKath i feel that since you can have players muted if they are visitors, the same should be applicable to the textbox. i know muting people's voices used to mute textbox as well. but if i have all visitors voice muted so i don't get harassed they could just type slurs at me instead lol. needing to mute individually for a group i don't want to hear is very inefficient.

As a hard of hearing person with APD (audio processing disorder), linking chatbox visibility to the hearing radius has put me in a complicated position. Disabling earmuff mode will let me use chatboxes to communicate around me but then I can't understand any voices. Enabling earmuff mode will let me hear voices that are very close to me (often only one person in range at a time so I can understand them) but then nobody can get my attention with chatboxes.
I agree with MakerKath that splitting chatbox and earmuff ranges into two separate settings would benefit everyone in a wide variety of situations. Personally, this would let me understand voices that are near me and people can still get my attention with chatboxes if needed.
