Now, I did a bit of digging into this before writing and saw that a year or so back, Avatar Audios was in the game but removed because it was never intended to be included on Meta/Android devices to begin with because it used too much CPU resources, correct? I fully believe that there could be some way to help introduce the sounds for the Quest/Android devices, but there are some tweaks that need to be made. Every device that isn't a computer/PCVR is marked as an 'Android' under a user's name tag, A harmless little indicator to let others know that if you use something that's PC only or has audio, they will not be able to hear it due to the previous mentioned reasons. I can understand the concern of the resources on the lower end devices, as too much strain on it could inevitably end up damaging something. But let's think of the newer models for a second, shall we? With the (not so) recent release of the Meta Quest 3, we see that it was upgraded part-wise in every conceivable way including a faster Processor/CPU. Now, with several devices, each with their own range of parts, categorized under a single category that prevents them from Audio Sources, I think there is a way we can fix this and allow everyone to be part of the fun, and here's how:
1) Re-categorizing the "Android" tag - Instead of just the one tag, We split them up into their respective devices. (I.E. Quest 2, Quest 3, Android/Mobile)
2) Levels of Accessibility - In a way that can comply with the concerns of straining the CPU, we simply change the amount of sounds one can hear depending on the device. For example, the Quest 3 can choose to hear all audios of the people that work with their Shield Level; the Quest 2 only being able to hear a select few audios/have a limit to audios per avatar on the Quest 2 that fit with the users in one's Shield Level, Mobile having little-to-none, and so on, so forth.
3) A List Of The Benefits - Many others, as well as myself, would be absolutely ecstatic at the return of Audio Sources for Quest devices, as for many (myself included,) this would allow for cosplayers/actors to easily get into character instead of simply having to imagine the sounds. Why think when you can hear? This return would also allow for players to have more enjoyable times with their friends! I have a Sea Of Thieves Skeleton Curse avatar (uploaded by the wonderful "Cl3NR c2") that has a Hurdy-Gurdy instrument that would normally play shanties, but we cannot hear it due to being on a Quest. If we were allowed this privilege again, the overall satisfaction and morale of players would increase with the more available ways to hang out!
