Description

After setting Loading Screen to "Random", VRChat started failing to join worlds.

Symptoms:

Can log in normally

Can stay in current world

Every world transition fails or breaks

Happens across multiple PCs

Looks like API/network/risk-control issue at first

The issue was fixed immediately after changing Loading Screen back to Default.

Logs contain:

InventoryItem not found

/inventory/random

Failed to load loading screen

Value cannot be null

NullReference related errors

It seems the client requests a random loading screen inventory item that does not exist, then fails to handle the null response properly.

Reproduction

Set Loading Screen to Random

Restart VRChat

Try joining worlds

Observe join failures / transition issues

Additional Info

Issue reproduced across different PCs with same account.
