Adding quest audio would have some benefits...well at least two. People on quest would like the game better and probably bring in more players. And without it quest players wouldn't know If something plays loud and annoying sounds that aggravate pc players. Before the avatar sound slider was removed quest did have avatar audio, although I'm pretty sure it was a glitch, but it worked well and didn't hurt anything.
