Currently, when a chatbox is hidden due to safety settings, there is no visible indication that it has been disabled. This lack of visibility contrasts with other features:
  • If avatars are disabled, we see the gray robot.
  • If voices are turned off, we see icons on the nameplates.
  • If icons are disabled, we see pixelated image.
  • But when chatboxes are disabled, we don't even know it's there, its presence becomes invisible to the user. It just works like full block of the person, which is not good. This feature feels under-developed.
I propose to use small placeholder chatbox when it's disabled
:
Currently, when a user types, a placeholder with a 3-dot animation is already there.
This existing placeholder could be reused for indicating a disabled chatbox.
It may contain icons something like ❌, ❗, 🚫, ⛔ or "shield" to signify the hidden/disabled state of the chatbox.
