Physics based dynamic bone out of the box in VRChat SDK
complete
Neitri
The idea is to have a component in VRChat SDK that has same or similar settings as dynamic bone.
Internally it will use Unity's physical joints, thus it will be affected by other colliders.
End result is that you can pat and cuddle others' tails and ears and they will actually react to colliders in your hands.
Such "bones" would also properly react to environment and props.
Such behavior is currently not possible with dynamic bone.

Avatar dynamics! Internally not quite as described but fulfils the functionality desired

Uploads furry avatar with tail and ear physics "NOPE!" runs away

Maxwell Rodgers: But anime cat girl Ears and Tails are okay, yea?
tupper
Agreed. A pre-built faked "DynamicBone" act-a-like editor script that could set up rigidbodies and hinge joints properly on a bone/its children would be awesome.
Neitri
tupper: Yes yes, the script would also have to add forces to those rigidbodies as you move around.

It'd be neat to see a world that is windy, and affects avatar physics to match.
Kalista Phoenix
yes please! I wanna play with ears and tails! :3 But that just made me think of what people will start doing x.x
Zarniwoop
This would be great with the planned hand colliders feature.

Zarniwoop: But it can also break some avatars if they use rigid bodies in hands, I guess? As I mentioned in https://vrchat.canny.io/feature-requests/p/hand-colliders best would be that creators can add custo mscript to joints/rigidbodies to exclude some of the rigidbodies and joints from this kind of interaction as it may be unwanted.
