Very Poor avatars make up a huge majority of the avatars in VRChat, and they range anywhere from 70,001 polygons to millions upon millions. Graphics cards have vastly improved since 70k was set as the Very Poor limit over three years ago, and lumping most avatars together in one category ruins the whole point of having ranks in the first place. I propose either raising the poly count (the usual limiting factor I find when working on avatars, and the most difficult to fix) for Poor avatars or adding a new Ultra-Poor category for avatars that are truly and completely unoptimized. I want to see what other creators have to offer, but I don't want to see 1.3 million polygons that someone didn't bother optimizing.
Now that mods are being removed from the system, Advanced Safety Settings' soft caps on avatars can no longer be used to customize each player's experience, and we need more flexibility with avatars and safety. Please adjust the performance ranks in response to this change, because right now, most avatars are just robots until I put the effort in to show them.
