The VRChat menu has a tab section dedicated to news and other information that could be helpful to users (not the Quick menu carousel). However, I feel like the design is a little challenging to use and navigate, and it isn't explicitly clear.
This feature request is asking for a bit of an overhaul. I know it may not be helpful without a suggested design and comparison, however, I think there are a few things to keep in mind if a re-design were to happen:
  • It could use a bit more "flow" rather than being explicit categories
  • It could be more like a single information center that has tagged information (think similar to Discord forum channels)
  • While it may be all in one place, it can have tagging, which can be included or excluded
What would this do?
Say that the following tags are available
  • iOS
  • Android
  • PC
  • News
  • Help
  • Changelogs
  • Betas
A user could use these tags (and many more probably) to filter their results. This can make it a lot easier to find relevant information. It can also allow them to subscribe to specific feeds of information.
So for example, instead of just having a discord channel dedicated to iOS beta announcements (which is harder to access and less obvious than just in-game), a user can see those updates and announcements in-game, but not have to sift through a ton of random pages and items to get there.
Perhaps think of it like VRChat making their own little news website inside the menu. Slightly expanded functionality to stay more connected to the happenings, meta, and features of VRChat.
