don't Remove Legacy Animation.
Japanese user use Legacy Animation for many avatar's various accessories.
Japanese users recently found a new Legacy Animation operation by utilizing relative paths.
This discovery enables smooth and more natural animation,
It is expected that many animations can be operated with one object.
Please do not deprive us the possibility of expression.
sry. Please forgive my poor English

Legacy animations will not be re-enabled for avatars beyond the cut-off time. They were removed for two main reasons: they were a major security risk that was being actively exploited by malicious users, and Unity is deprecating Legacy animations and they will eventually disappear (hence the title "Legacy").
If there is something that Animators are not capable of doing, please let us know and inform us of your use case either via email (support@vrchat.com) or via another Canny post.

Just use animators.

I'm guessing legacy animations broke their in-house spaghetti code so they had to disable it for convenience
UnknownAK
Sadly this has completely broken my prop toggles and the alternative using Animators barely works. You need 2 emotes just to turn on/off 1 object. Compared to with legacy animations that allowed a single emote to toggle on and off the object.
sirmurei
UnknownAK: Single emote to toggle on and off the object didn't actually work right. You have always needed dedicated ways to reset and enable. Toggleprops was scuffed because of the way it was
UnknownAK
sirmurei: I know it was scuffed but it seemed to work a lot more reliably than this new method. It's not that big a deal or anything, just wish there was a better system for things like prop toggling as both methods are scuffed.

Legacy animation needed
kingBigfootia
I used a lot of legacy animations on my avatars and luckily I managed to fix most of them, however I have an emote that turns me into ragdoll mode and it requires a legacy animation in order to reset it. (At least as far as I know, if there's another way please let me know.)
I really hope there will be a fix for it because I worked weeks on getting the ragdoll to work and this is honestly quite frustrating.
Pirate Sam
I used Legacy for Tail Wagging and Shape Keys. Can't figure out a way to make Tails wag without it.
UnknownAK
Pirate Sam: for shape keys you can put an Animator component on the Body object. So you can change animation to non legacy and then use an Animator to run that animation. Make sure to have an empty() animator component on the main avatar object as well though otherwise you'll be stuck in t-pose

If you don't give me the right to write scripts and trigger chains, don't try to force players to use anmator, it's for full game developers.
Also, please bring the chairs back together. They're very useful. Your poor imagination doesn't know their importance.

I am the author of "禁忌JINJI‘s avatar world".
I am very disappointed with the official update.
I have done a lot of interesting functions with Legacy Animation.
I use emote to open them.
Such as lights, sounds, paintbrushes and so on.
This will not make my vive user.
Because it affects others by accidentally touching keys.
However, all this hard work has become futile.
My world's Avatar emote function is totally useless.
In addition, all kinds of functions have failed.
For example, blink animation
I use the blinking animation that closes Legacy Animation.
To prevent conflict between facial expression and blinking.
This will make my avatar more beautiful.
Now it's gone.
Facing me may be a complicated update.
I feel very tired now.
This is said by translator.
There may be some problems.
But I still want to give Legacy Animation back to us.

禁忌apostle: you can fix blinking and facial expressions breaking.

Didn't even know there was a different way to animate than animator controllers! Heh. Ya learn somethin' evry day.

I have yet to read about well explained use case that can't be done with non-legacy animations.
If any of you know about such case, VRChat themselves encourages you to share it:
"If you have a case where Legacy animations are required, please let us know on our Canny. We’d like to look at possible workarounds where needed." - https://medium.com/@vrchat/legacy-animations-update-5906df811183
