Hello,
I would like to propose an improvement to the moderation system within VRChat groups, with a focus on increasing transparency and user understanding of moderation actions.
In accordance with VRChat's Community Guidelines, world creators are required to implement moderation systems for their worlds, and these systems must adhere to specific guidelines. These guidelines include informing users of rules, displaying rules at the entrance of worlds, and providing clear communication about moderation actions and reasons.
However, when it comes to VRChat groups, there is currently a lack of such transparency. Group administrators have the ability to ban users, including those who have never joined the group, without providing any reasons for their actions. This creates an ambiguity that can lead to misunderstandings and frustration among users.
I propose that VRChat introduces a feature within groups that allows administrators to provide reasons when taking moderation actions, particularly when banning users. This enhancement would align the group moderation system with the principles outlined in VRChat's Community Guidelines, ensuring that users are informed about the reasons for their bans.
By implementing this feature, VRChat can:
Improve User Understanding: Users who are subject to moderation actions, such as bans, would receive clear and concise explanations for why these actions were taken, promoting transparency and fairness.
Reduce Misunderstandings: Providing reasons for bans can help prevent misunderstandings and disputes between administrators and users, fostering a more harmonious community environment.
Enhance Accountability: Group administrators would be encouraged to moderate with greater accountability, as they would need to provide valid reasons for their actions.
I believe that incorporating this feature would contribute to a more user-friendly, transparent, and respectful VRChat community, aligning with VRChat's commitment to creating a positive and enjoyable virtual environment for all users.
Thank you for considering this new proposal!
