Moderation Details for Users
Kitsunaki
If a user get sanctioned and their content deleted, both sides want to prevent that happening again. The user wants to stay connected to friends and not losing creative work to the void and VRC doesn't wanna need to go after all those reports and cause bad vibes. But there is one detail missing, that I heard multiple times during the current ban waves: A user report.
If an avatar, world or something else is reported and the author banned, the author usually gets a random "because our guidelines" mail, showing how long the saction will last and which world or avatar was deleted. But the user still not knows what detail was the crossing-line factor.
The guidelines contain vague spots, while stating any sexual content as NSFW and so not suited for public spaces, many people create content in the kink/fetish spectrum, often containing everyday's life stuff, that usually never would be banned. But during the last weeks such content often was flagged by very diligent people and a ton of worlds were deleted.
A world can be huge, containing lots and lots of things. If the user doesn't know what to prevent in future, then similar stuff will be uploaded and the whole thing happens again. It would be super helpful for sanctioned users, if the mod-mail would contain a short report about why this action was done and what part was violating which singular point of the TOS.
If a user puts weeks of creative work into a world, then a moderator should at least take 5 minutes to explain the deletion.
