Make Personal Space mutual / two-way

Currently, Personal Space makes other users disappear from my view when they get too close to me, but they can still see me.
My suggestion is to make Personal Space mutual, not just one-sided: when someone enters my Personal Space, they should also stop seeing me while they remain too close.
This would make Personal Space feel like a real personal boundary, instead of only being a visual filter on my side. It would help prevent awkward or uncomfortable situations where people get extremely close, invade someone’s space, or touch someone just to bother them.

I personally haven't experienced this yet as until now I have been a desktop player and also have only been in spaces with people I know fairly well but I have seen many times in videos, streams and shorts where people have been either just existing in a space or making content actively and other people known to them or not have interacted with their model or pushed themselves into that persons space without asking or apologising. As someone who in real life is very touch sensitive this is something I find extremely uncomfortable to witness and even more so to experience and so I think this is a feature that should be included immediately to help improve the safety and user experience for all players.

While I've not been personally affected by this that much, I have witnessed more than enough occasions where some users, (especially strangers), are not respecting my friends' personal space or boundaries.
Whether caused by trolls or people with difficulties understanding boundaries, this is indeed a real issue and VRChat should put more focus into the comfort of their players.

This would be amazing for days I am feeling way over stimulated. Not to mention it prevents folks from capturing inappropriate screenshots just cause I can't see them.

I second this. Personally, I've had experiences where people stand far too close to me, and I really don't like when someone is practically in my face. Everyone has different comfort levels with personal space, and respecting those boundaries helps make interactions much more enjoyable for everyone. A little awareness and courtesy can go a long way.

I sometimes run into the issue of people touching me without my consent. Often it's not in an inappropriate way, but still in a way that I'm not comfortable with from people I don't know.
The current implementation of "Personal Space" feels like it treats the symptoms, but not the actual cause. It does not stop people from invading your personal space, it hides the interaction from you visually, but you still know it's happening. For everyone else, the interaction is still taking place as normal.
I would love for this feature to be toggle-able to everyone or non-friends, perhaps as an extension to the current avatar interactions system.
