Let us buy the game and make rooms visible only to other paying players.

Players interested enough should be able to pay for the game.
Doing so should enable them to create rooms that can only be seen and joined by other paying players, possibly with the option to allow inviting non paying users.
Ive been talking to other players about how to improve the ingame climate that has been down the drain since the "Desktop Explsion" on the heels of the attention brought by streamers.
A user called Butt on the steam forum suggested this as an alternative to the "VR only+invited desktop users" room option that ive been pushing, i like the option and figured id share it.
This way doesnt divide by hardware so it should be more palatable those resistant to the idea that of VR only rooms.
I know id be willing to pay 10, even 20 bucks, to not have to deal with free-to-play public rooms anymore.
This would would allow players that are interested enough to invest in the game to hang out with others of a similar mind.
Im not interested in hanging out in private rooms exclusively, theres no meeting new people in those.
Having different levels of buy in with different features in games isnt rare nowdays, think of it as a DLC feature if that makes you happier.

You could just make your own private room, where you invite the players. There's your solution.

I understand why you dislike the negative climates that can arise in certain instances, but this would literally change nothing except for the player-count. People can still buy the game and be toxic, raid, etc. Personally, I've had no ongoing problems with other players, because I block spammers, and if there's a raid going on in a world, I switch worlds.
