Leap Motion controller in desktop
tracked
Виктор
Can I use a Leap Motion controller to track hands in run mode without using VR helmets and without connecting my smartphone as a helmet? Interested in using Leap Motion without SteamVR. I would like to use it in Desktop mode. Control the character on the keyboard or gamepad and, if necessary, stretch out your hands and visualize them in the game.
So that VRchat can understand where Leap Motion is, you could do 2 modes (1 on the head and 2 on the table). I am sure that this is not easy to implement, but I think a lot of people are interested in this issue. This will allow users with weaker PCs to use VRchat features without expensive virtual reality kits.
(I apologize in advance for my English. Google translator helped me)

now that hand tracking was added via camera and an embedded tensor flow model can this be revisited and implemented as leap motion is far more accurate with its IR sensors than an off the shelf webcam.

Myrkur Absolutely this! Webcam tracking may be better than nothing, but it's still crap

Yes!! Please add support for this, as well as controllers with motion tracking (such as the JoyCons)!

Please revisit this! I just bought my leap tracker v2 and I can't use it at all since I don't own a headset yet.

has their been an update to status of this ticket?

This was a thing using mods before EAC was implemented iirc, you could still use the keyboard for movement, but you would be able to wave, give headpats, etc in desktop mode.

I'm so surprised they still haven't tracked this. They added full quest hand camera tracking and mentioned interest in leap motion in particular but almost a year after that still nothing. Hoping this comment will bump this post or something because I'm dying for them to at least tell us where it lies in their priorities.

We definitely need this in VRchat I'm always traveling and can't bring my headset this would help out a lot as my leap motion is mounted to my laptop and always with me

Seems like not gonna happen, time to go

just started using leap motion and I actually hope that it could get support for vrchat since vr headsets and the like can be expensive and leapmotion only set me back about 80 dollars.
