The VRChat camera is quite dark by default, which can make them look a bit lame in comparison to real concert shots (see image 1). This has a significant negative impact on how the game is perceived by non-users, who don't know how different the experience is with a headset on.
This might seem like an unfair comparison, but fortunately most of this is just due to lack of exposure control! There is plenty of data in the darks that can be brought out simply by adjusting the curves (see image 2).
Any method that doesn't simply add values to the brightness of all pixels linearly will be a big improvement! Modern photo editing apps use rather sophisticated proprietary methods behind their "brightness" and "contrast" sliders. A simple writeup on the math behind it can be found here: https://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/photoshop-curves.htm
Implementing curves like this as a contrast slider is relatively simple and will make a big difference in how the game is presented to the general public! A simple brightness slider to adjust the gamma would give most users complete control over their photos without having to use a photo editing application.
