New device from HTC would love to see it intergrated into vr chat.

I have a HTC face tracker and while it's normally a 60hz device it's limited to 4hz? using OSC in VRchat. I would love to see a native implementation. I also have more blendshapes then float parameters I can use so... honestly it's extremely bad in VRchat. OSC won't beat a native implementation.
I use Neos regularly and I use my face tracker over there and it's very smooth and amazing and it's extremely hard to go back to VRchat's method of doing expressions.
I would love to see a native implementation for this hardware.

From what I can gather from this tweet a more native solution is basically confirmed.

Would also like to throw my hat in the ring on this one. And if we're seeing facial tracking support, perhaps eye tracking support using the same SDK.

Unfortunately there are alot if features like this that don't get traction. Only way this will change is if Oculus has facial tracking hardware on there new headsets

_Steve: And make a PC-compatible API for said facial tracking.
Oculus Link still does not send Quest hand tracking data over even. :I

This was half a year ago and we still cant have facial tracking in VRChat. This makes me sad. :(

If support was added everyone would buy one of these. It would move the immersion to the next level. But, if it’d be too much of a hassle to implement completely there could also be a soft implementation of the software. Unlike in Neos where it tracks every facial movement accurately, you could have it recognize a select few face patterns and bind them to the expressions on your avatar. Sort of like how it works with gestures but instead of clicking a button on your controller it just recognizes something basic like a smile or frown, and it shows on your avatar as a pre-made expression. Wouldn’t be as cool but definitely would be better than nothing.

Would be amazing if this had full support in VRC. It would add lots of immersion and be a great addition. Lots of people would buy it and it’d make the game even better! The nuanced facial movements you could make with your avatar would be so cool. Eye tracking is a highly demanded feature in new headsets. How long until facial tracking will be as well?

highly suggest this to get implemented as soon as possible. if you guys at Vrchat want to stay relevant. and also add more then 6 point tracking.

No plans as of yet, but definitely see that this is a popular request.

Tupper - VRChat Head of Community: Any clarification on if this can play nicely with the OSC tool you guys announced? It's unclear if that's baked in and only expecting webcam data, or if it'll be able to read any externally-wrapped OSC applications. Likewise, if it's baked in, are there any plans to allow for the updated Unity package script(s) provided by Vive?

It can work with most headsets. A decent price. A must have for a social game.
