High Quality Audio Stream from Players

Provide a script which enables a single, high quality audio stream from a user for live performances. Limit one per room, access controlled by triggers or some other mechanism where arbitrary users cannot interrupt it.
Would be seeking 128 kbps MP3 at a bare minimum, 192 kbps would be great and 320 kbps would be excellent. If VBR is possible, LAME V0 would also be great.

Reverting back to Open! This is not actively being worked on, nor do we have plans to work on it in the immediate future. However, it is a good idea.
Although we do eventually plan to have a feature like this, many VRChat players think that the Planned status means we've got a set date and time that we'll be releasing this.
We don't!
It simply means we've read this and said "Hmm, yeah, good idea. Let's look into this later."
That's it. :S

This was marked as Planned almost 2 years ago. No progress since? I just graduated with a degree in software dev and have spent the last few months doing game dev consulting, mostly with Unity projects. If there is anything I can do to make this happen, please let me know.

Any update on this?

Matt Cantagallo: Nope. The only workaround is to use the stream player in a world and have the performer livestream through it. The stream player allows for higher quality, stereo audio; however, it adds a significant delay and is quite fiddly to set up, so it is not a great solution.
owlboy
MehStrongBadMeh: Can confirm.

This ability would better if its stereo. We can perform DJing or live performing with some instruments.

CloA: What if you stream your own stuff to the vrc stream player?
HotSpot
yes! if this became a feature I would host music events in vrchat

Additionally, since this will be like a "special" stream. It would be swell if it could have different volume and falloff settings from normal voices to add something like a PA system to any world with a stage. Whether it be lectures or open mic night.
Hagbard Celine
Beanow: Would be nice if that could include the motion data of the avatar. So you could stram a live actor to more than one world.
PK
yeah this is still an essential feature for the events i have planned, a lot of musicians and dj's are turned off by having to pre-record everything, they'll be much more willing to take part once they can perform for real.

This is something I have on our roadmap. It might be a while though as we have other things ahead of it. It's something personal to me as I perform live and very much want to perform in VRChat. As do others. Hooking it into the room instead of an avatar is the way forward. Also allowing the splitting of a signal to include left and right from a stereo source so things like speakers can be positioned. Also the ability to get an FFT channel break out to feed say up to 8 frequencies to drive things like visuals and events.

Ron Millar (CCO and Design) : any idea how far down the pipe this is? Rare Bloom will be having it's grand opening in approximately February if production continues as planned and we would like to have everything you mentioned if possible by then.
DovahDoVolom
Ron Millar (CCO and Design) : So, of what i'm imagining is correct your saying a room can have assigned effects (lets say fire from the stage or lights) that can be toggled from the performer? If something like this would happen what designates the room performer? How will a performer input these room commands?
