Granular Safety Settings
tracked
DarkSwordsman
This feature request is asking for:
The ability for users to set safety settings based on specific avatar stats, rather than the current broad "shaders", "custom animations", etc.
So for example: Being able to ignore lights and polygons for very poor avatars, but being able to restrict Texture Memory or Skinned Meshes to Poor or Medium.
This allows users to tailor their expeirences more to their hardware and what they feel is acceptable in terms of performance.
Bonus points for a "presets" system. The safety settings themselves could be converted to this system, where VRChat has presets for each trust level, and users can make custom presets for each trust level or globally.

Also, add avatar download size and performance rank in the Safety Settings for each Trust Rank. Every time I'm in the mood to tolerate lower FPS for more immersion I have to change the download size in the large menu settings (which means more extra steps). I want to download my Friends 150mb avatar without having to show them individually one by one.
I want to show Very Poor Avatars to my Friends and Trust Rank and show avatars for Lower Ranks but only if they are not Very Poor.

lil fluff
Yes. It's so frustrating to have to hide or show everything via "show avatar". Even if i can specify "hide lights" or "hide animations"
per person
that's still more powerful than "make everyone except friends + 'shown avatars' go to fallback." (Especially because in 80 person lobbies, friends often change avatars once or twice so I'd rather the safety settings auto hide individual components on them based on performance, rather than being locked into "show avatar")Groxxy
Agreed, I'm sick of having to choose between 100 material slot 50 skinned mesh renderer avatars being shown and having that one guy with a 70,001 poly avatar that's perfectly optimized otherwise being hidden and seeing everyone as a fallback as a result.
