Fix Mirror Resolution Limit

Currently VRChat mirrors can be set to scale based on your headsets resolution
BUT are hard limited to a max resolution of 2048x2048
Problem with this is on high res VR headsets, mirrors look pixelated and bad. Considering that most people see half of this game through mirrors, this is a big problem.
As more high res headsets get released, this will inevitably become a larger problem, as it already is for anyone with a high res headset like a Pimax or a G2.
So please, increase the limit.

Earlier this year we added a 'Mirror Resolution' setting to the advanced graphics settings in the performance menu.
Thanks for the request, and please let us know if you have any other feedback.

Configuration option for mirror resolution cap
Scarlet Crystal
Mirrors currently have a maximum resolution of 2048 by 2048. Because of this, mirror reflections have noticeably degraded quality when running at high resolutions, which is often the case if you are using VR headsets such as the HP Reverb G2, Vive Pro 2, Valve Index, Quest 2. I propose three possible ways address this issue:
1: Remove the mirror cap. This is the simplest solution, but exposes the player to any performance issues that you might have been guarding against.
2: Add an option in VRChat's configuration file to adjust the mirror cap. This allows you to leave the mirror cap as is, but lets advanced users adjust it if they are so inclined.
3: Remove the mirror cap, but add an option in the UI to set the mirror resolution to a percentage of the current display resolution. This solution has the advantage of being more user-friendly than second option.
Additionally, if you do add an option to raise or lower the mirror cap, you should consider also adding an option to set the MSAA level for mirrors as well. Aliasing artifacts are more apparent in a lower resolution mirror, so it follows that one might want to have a higher MSAA level for mirrors than for regular rendering.

problem of maximum resolution of mirror
Jae
The left side of the picture is a 2048
2048 resolution mirror and the right side is my view at 3840
3160 resolution.Since the maximum resolution of the mirror is 2048, when viewing the mirror with a high-resolution vr headset, the avatar in the mirror appears as a low-resolution image.
Increase the maximum resolution of the mirror to 4096 or 8192.

A setting to change it would be nice. Let me use my 2000 dollar pc please lol

Mirror's on the Index look horrid since removing mods, borderline unpoleasent to look at if your avatar sparkles. Please, please please, unlock the mirror resolution. As ==Cat== stated, we have newer technology, newer and stronger hardware, newer headsets. Mirrors are everywhere. This needs to be a setting immediately. It can vary from Quest to PC, but PC needs this unlocked. PLEASE.

I use a htc vive pro 2, each eye is 5k, the mirror resolution currently is too low. we need this fixed. I get migraines when looking into mirrors because of how blurry they are. only way to stop it is to be right next to the mirror to make it somewhat tolerable but that's not a solution.
==Cat==
This needs to be fixed please, the mirror is very blurry on Index. Quest on link cable will also show the resolution limit. It's very distracting and a super easy fix.

Guys, it's been 2 years and this still isn't fixed. Mods solved this but can we maybe get this addressed please? The mirror should not be based on headsets from 2016. Let the user decide please! :)
Also a Pimax is not needed to see this. Quest on a link or Index can easily sure the distortion and blur!

It has come to my attention that there were other posts with this same topic. I urge anyone who vote here to also upvote the other mirror resolution post(s):

Same issue using a G2, looks horrible. And this is an issue that will only continue to become worse as time goes on, and as the standard of VR resolutions progress
