Base IPD Scale adjustment
closed
Kalista Phoenix
ability to adjust the default IPD scale for an avatar, to essentially fine tune the floor's distance so one with longer legs can still touch the floor in world, increasing vertical range of motion to balance In-world environment to SteamVR's floor. Longer legged avatars hands can't reach the floor, shorter legged avatar hands sink through it.

Advanced player height settings

Allow users to scale their IPD and vertical offset independently (if they want) instead of combining them into Player Height.
Avatars rarely match your floor when using your actual height, regardless of their proportions.
For my setup, I have to set my height significantly lower and then correct the vertical offset with SteamVR Advanced settings. This matches up perfectly with my floor and arm length for both standing and full-body (even when using Nikei), but is tedious to set up every session.

I've never been able to reach the floor in game. I've always needed a desktop user to help me pick something up if I've dropped it.

VRArt1: There are two work arounds. The best, if you do not use leg tracking: Adjust your height setting to your default height. then change to Sitting mode, then change your height DOWN, and that should allow you to touch the floor, as that adjusts IPD scaling. It does make it so your arm will reach max length before your real arm does.
Other, is to use Advanced SteamVR settings, and adjusts your play area. This will sink your view, and avatar slightly, but will allow you to touch the ground, and if you're doing leg tracking, allow you to properly sit on the floor. You will have to change back manually when you stand up.
There is also a program which can adjust your play area on the fly, and seem like you're climbing, but I don't know how to get that work work properly.

I've noticed that I can't touch the floor with any avatar, short or tall. I always end up hitting the real-world ground about a foot or two above the virtual one. Makes it almost impossible to pick stuff up.
